Basketball
Thank you to all those children who turned up to basketball on Monday 24th May. Thank you to Whaea Debbie Kapa for helping to manage our teams on my behalf. Players of the day: Sarah Edmonds, David Romana and Tony Leaf-Pomana. We have 2x U11's and 1x U9's team. Due to the large number of teams U9's could play between 3.30pm - 4.30pm, U11's could play from 4.30pm to 6.00pm. A notice will be sent home today reminding whānau what team your child plays in.
Rippa Rugby
We have two Rippa Rugby tournaments happening in June 2021. The first will be held in Kerikeri on the Thursday 17th of June and the second will be held here at the Kaikohe Rugby grounds on Tuesday 22nd June 2021. We will be entering two senior teams in both these tournaments. Children involved in these tournaments will bring home more information closer to the date.

Matariki Games
On Tuesday the 6th of July there will be a celebration of Matariki games held in Taipā. We will be entering two senior teams for this competition. More information will follow for the children involved closer to the time.
Room 13 Trip - Little Dippers
On Wednesday 9th June, Room 13 will be going to Little Dippers over in Waipapa for some swim time in their warm, indoor pool.
Seniors Haerenga to Ngāwhā
Room 15 and 16 will be visiting Ngāwhā Springs next week Wednesday 2 June as part of our inquiry around Taniwha.
Bling, Bling Toi Marama
Our tamariki are busy creating for this year's Bling Bling Toi Mārama light festival. The theme is Te Waonui a Tāne. This year the festival will run for four days, from the 7th July - 11th July. Thanks to Ākau for creating this awesome opportunity to celebrate Matariki.
We look forward to this week’s games. Mr Whippy will be at the games this week so if your child has a Player of the Day voucher please remind them to bring it to the game.
Netball
Well done to all netball players of the day last week. KKE netballers: Fern Edmonds, Chelsey Reihana, Amaia Stillwell, Sari Stillwell, Naisha Singh, Rehutai Woodman, Kaylee Crouch, Teagan Stevens.
Just a reminder that we need to be at Lindvart Park at 3.30pm and games will finish approximately 4.45pm and please remind your child to wear the appropriate footwear (sneakers) and to bring a bottle of water. All players are to meet after school at Room 15 for organisation.
Pink Shirt DayPink Shirt day was a fun-filled day acknowledging our staunch anti-bullying kaupapa here at Kaikohe East School. We raised a whopping $150 to koha.
