Final School Assembly

Our 2016 final school assembly was held today.

A special farewell to our Year 6’s who will be moving on to Year 7 next year.

Transition Days

Your child/children have spent the past two days in their class for 2017!  On the first day back, next year, all children will be able to go to their appropriate class.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New YearOn behalf of the staff at Kaikohe East School we would like to wish all our whanau and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, season’s greetings to all!

Lunches 2017

Our current “Yvonne lunches” will end this year.  We are unsure how school lunches will work for next year but will let you know once we have it organised.  Please note there will be no school lunches this Friday.

Kaikohe Community Pool

Last week the Kaikohe Community Pool, situated at Northland College opened.  It is open from 3pm – 7pm then from the 17th December 10am – 7pm weekends included, $2 entry.

To Miss Joy Schwieters who has accepted the Middle Syndicate Leader position for 2017 while Miss Mason is teaching in Room 12.

Farewell and ThanksWe have a number of staff leaving at the end of this term, we wish to say thank you to all staff leaving and wish you well for 2017!  A special farewell and thanks to Mrs Elaine Shields who has been teaching at our school for more than 20 years.  Mrs Shields will be retiring but returning in 2017 to do some day to day relieving.

Teen Parent Unit opens in 2017

The new TPU which is being built down by the caretakers shed is due to be completed and officially opened during January.

Uniform 2017 – Wednesday Wash Day

There is still time to start payments for school polos and or jackets for next year.  Call the office or come and see us.  All children will be in uniform next year with a free day on a Wednesday if wanted to wash uniforms.

Swimming Pool is closed

Our school pool will be closed tomorrow and will have a make shift cover put over it to help maintain the water over the holiday period.  The pool will not open again until the beginning of Term 1 next year.

Last Day of School

School will finish for the year this Friday at 1pm, there will be minimal supervision all school buses will run as normal.

Interschool AthleticsCongratulations to the students who represented our school with pride at last week’s Interschool Athletics Day hosted here at Kaikohe East School.

Rheumatic Fever

As of the 6th of December 2016 the sore throats program in schools will be closing down for the year and will commence back at the start of the school year 2017.  If your child/ren have sore throats over the summer holidays and you have concerns please see your local GP/Doctor. We would like to take this opportunity thank you all and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the team at Te Hau Ora O Ngapuhi.
