Today Tania also dropped off to us some duvet inners and covers that are free to any whanau who would like to come in to get a couple.

Coats for KidsToday we were excited to have dropped off to the school lots of lovely, warm coats to give away to some of our children so if your child comes home today with a “new coat” we have given it to him or her. Special thanks to Tania Edwards from NISS for thinking of us and to Coats for Kids for their kind donation.

Kaikohe East School Board of Trustees

The Kaikohe East School Board met today, 5th July. Go to the school website www.kaikeast.school.nz

for the agenda and associated reports.

Rheumatic Fever

There has been an increase in the number of new Rheumatic Fever cases diagnosed in Northland this year. We encourage a throat swab if your child complains of a sore throat. This can be done at School or at the doctors.

A positive throat swab means that your child has the Strep A bug. Once they have taken the 10 day antibiotic course this will clear and prevent it invading the body further and developing Rheumatic Fever.

Hockey & Netball

There is no hockey or netball this weekend, have a lovely relaxing holiday.

Alb’s Kai Cart Menu

Te Arahura – Community of Learning

(COL – Kahui Ako)

Three teachers from within the Te Arahura Schools have recently been appointed to support Whaea Chicky to support schools to improve learning outcomes for all schools. The Teachers appointed are: Whaea Stevie Woodman (Kaikohe East) Whaea Moana Timoko (Te Kura Kaupapa Maori) and Whaea Yanje Klaricich. This week these three teachers and Whaea Chicky started visits around the Te Arahura Schools, visits to all schools will be completed early next term. Visits enabled us to establish relationships and an insight into what is happening in our schools. A report will be presented to the Te Arahura School Principals next term.
