End of Term Date

This Friday, 23rd September, is our last day of Term 3.  We will return to school on Monday 9th October.

Bus Bay

A friendly reminder to all whanau and friends that the School Bus Bay is for BUSES ONLY, do not park there before and after school.

 

Cultural Festival

Here are a few photos of our children ready to perform last week at the Annual Cultural Festival held at Northland College.

Dargaville Cross CountryNgawairere travelled to Dargaville last week to participate in the regional cross country run, she placed 9th.  Congratulations Ngawairere.

 

School Uniforms – compulsory

Next year we are making the wearing of school uniforms compulsory for all children.

We will notify whanau through the newsletter when our new stock is.

 

Photo Day

Our photo day was today, Wednesday 21st September.  Class photos will be available for re-ordering at a later date or online at www.lizdaviesphotography.co.nz

 

Student Council

Over the past few weeks classes have been discussing what a Student Council is.  This week any tamariki who would like to be on the Student Council will be telling their classmates why they wish to be on this group.  Next week we hope to announce two tamariki per class who will form the Student Council to share ideas, support and work towards improving our school for everyone.  They will meet regularly with Whaea Chicky.

 

Transition Day

All Year 6 children will be attending the last planned Transition Day at Kaikohe Intermediate School on Thursday 10th November from approximately 9-2.30pm.  Whanau are welcome to attend with their tamariki to see what the school has to offer for next year.  The children will be involved in various classroom activities on this day that will give them some idea of what Year 7 will be like for them at Kaikohe Intermediate.  The Principal Freda Mokaraka will also be available to speak with whanau should you wish to.

 

 

Kaikohe East School Board

The Kaikohe East School Board meets at the school at 3:15pm on Wednesday 21 September.

Room 3 Cultural Festival StoriesOur group went to Kapahaka at Northland College on Thursday.  I saw my Grandma and I felt nervous but I still did it.  The poi was the best.

We were on stage and we sang loud.  Whaea Lydia was happy and proud of us.  At the Cultural Festival on Thursday my Nana was proud of me.  I enjoyed the poi best.  By Ihapera

 

Okaihau Traverse
