Merry ChristmasTo all our Staff, tamariki and Whanau, may you all have a very safe Christmas and New Year.

 

Term 1, 2014

A reminder that school starts on Wednesday the 29th January and if your child attends for the first two weeks of school with no absences they will receive their stationary free.

 

Welcome

A big welcome to the following new students this week: Tahleena Atkins-Wihongi and Owen Cherrington.

 

Staff Farewells

At the end of this year we say a big thank you and farewell to the following staff:

Whaea Becky, Whaea Michelle, Whaea Lois, Matua Anthony and Whaea Cathie. Thank you all for your wonderful contribution to our school and all the best with your future endeavours.

 

Farewell to our Year 6’s

We say a fond farewell also to our wonderful Year 6 tamariki who will be leaving us to move onto Year 7 next year.

 

End of Term

The last day of term 4 is Friday 13th December however there will be minimal supervision on Friday 13th for children who do attend school. On this day teachers will be packing, stacking furniture etc.  Lunch will be altered to 2-3pm and children dismissed as normal at 3pm. 

 

End of Term Celebration DayAll classes will be putting on mini items to celebrate the end of the year tomorrow, Thursday 12th December.  Whanau are more than welcome to attend, start time is 10am outside the school office followed by a shared morning tea for Whanau and staff in the school hall.

If your child is in one of the following classes please try to get them to wear the following:

Room 1 – bright clothing or anything circus like

Room 3 – green and or red clothing

Room 4 and Manawanui – own class letter sent home

Room 5 and 6 – Carousel girls – a pretty dress, boys – bright shorts and t-shirt, clowns – bright tops and baggy pants

Tumanako and Room 15 – own class letter sent home

Room 14 – own class letter sent home

Room 12 – wigs, bright and baggy clothing

If you have any queries do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or phone the office.

 

Mainfreight Award

The recipient of this award will be announced at tomorrow’s Celebration Day Circus Assembly. Their photo with their prize will be advertised in the first newsletter for 2014.

 

T-Ball CongratulationsWell done to Dutchess who received a trophy for female player of the tournament yesterday at the T-Ball tournament held at Lindvart Park yesterday. 

 

School Uniform samples

We have School uniform top size samples available for children to try on.  Please come into the school office to try them on and make an order for 2014.  All tops are $35 each and should be delivered to us by the end of January.  We must have close to 50 orders paid for before they can be sent off to be made.

Term 1 – Wednesday 29th January to Thursday 17th April

Special Break – Friday 7 February

Term 2 – Monday 5th May to Friday 4th July

Term 3 – Monday 21st July to Friday 26th September

Term 4 – Monday 13th October to Friday 12th December

 

End of Year Reports

All children who have been enrolled at our school for more than six weeks will be bringing home their reports today in an envelope.  Do not hesitate to call in and see your child’s teacher or phone and make a time to meet with them for any explanation you may need. We have tried very hard to make sure all reports are clear, make sense and spelling is correct.  If there are any errors Whanau come across we apologise in advance and ask that you let us know so we can fix them and reprint your child’s report.

 

Dental Clinic

Merry Christmas Everyone!  Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.  Remember to Brush your teeth twice a day and drink lots of water.  See you all next year!  From your dental team, Sheryl and Noella.
