Welcome

This week we welcome the following new students: Iris Grey and Danielle Teinangaro. We also welcome Matua Jimmy.

 

CongratulationsTo Puawai Woodman from Room 14 who on Sunday participated in the Ray White Triathlon held in Onerahi, Whangarei. Here is Puawai wearing the medal she was awarded at the end of the race.

Puawai and other tamariki from our school are currently preparing for the Weetbix Triathlon to be held in Auckland soon, more details will come home soon about this.

 

HEHA Sports Day

Whaea Kelli will be taking about 14 children to a sports day this Friday at Lindvart Park. All children involved will be bringing home information about this today. If you agree to your child participating please return the form send home or come and see Whaea Kelli in Room 15.

 

Get to school on time

Ice blocks will be available all week at lunchtime from the school office, 50¢ an ice block.

 

Parent/Child/Teacher Hui

Many thanks to the whanau who came along to last night’s hui, I hope you found the time beneficial. Today meetings will start at 3.15pm. This is a great opportunity for whanau to come along and discuss how we can work together to ensure success for our tamariki.

If you have forgotten your time or just want to come along please do so this afternoon from 3.15 until 4.30pm.

 

Raffles

We still have raffles for sale at the school office. All raffles will be drawn under police supervision this Friday. We have tickets available for: a rugby ball letterbox, Kaikohe Intermediate Uniform, coffee table and printer. Come in and purchase tickets from the school office.

 

Furniture for Sale

New furniture has arrived for Rooms 12, 14 and 15 so we are selling large children’s tables with 6 chairs for $60 per set and desk/chair sets for $5 per set. Payment can be made at the school office and furniture can be collected from this afternoon onwards.

 

Te Korowai o te Aroha News

All children in Te Korowai o te Aroha should have by now brought home a note explaining their planned overnight stay at school on Wednesday 27th March. There will also be a whanau hui and kai to discuss goals and expectations for 2013 starting at 6pm. The cost of the overnight stay is $5 per child or $10 per whanau.

 

Year 5 and 6 Overnight

All Year 5 and 6’s from Rooms 12,14,15 and Tumanako are planning an overnight stay on Thursday 4th April. A letter with details will be coming home today with these children. If you have any queries please come and see your child’s teacher.

 

New class for Term 2

We are currently considering creating a new Year 4-6 class in Term 2 that Matua Jim will teach. Whanau of the children who may move into this class will be contacted by letter this week. Supporting Matua Jim and this class will be Stacy Mataki-Kaiaruna. This may mean that a new teacher will be appointed for the year to teach in Room 12.

 

There will be no Trumps lunches this Friday as we will be having Burgers for sale. Hamburgers will be $2 and Egg burgers will be $3.Orders can be made in classrooms and will then be sent to the office. Orders will be sent to classrooms at 12.30pm.

 

Cake & Class Hamper Winners

Congratulations to our Cake box winner, Inakoi and Manaaki -Tia Nepia-Hill who received a special prize at school assembly last week for having the most decorative cake.

 

Ice Blocks

It is important that ALL children are at school by 8:50am. This is to ensure they don’t miss any important notices or information in the morning.
