We have all missed you so much. We are really happy to see you safe and sound back with us.

 

School Uniform giveaway

Recently we were lucky enough to be given some black casual pants from Kids Can so we have decided to throw a pair of these in for Whānau who have already purchased a school uniform top or who purchase a top/s in Term 3.

Pant stocks are limited so be in quick, buy a school top for $35 and receive a pair of black pants free!!

 

Whole School Karakia

All classes will be starting their day with morning karakia in the hall when the first bell goes at 8.55am.

Navy Band Concert

Today the whole school walked to the Kaikohe Memorial Hall to watch the Royal NZ Navy Band concert at 1.30pm, everyone had a great time!

 

Measles

Measles is spreading around the North Island, after an outbreak in Hamilton.

Measles is VERY infectious - and if you are not immune, there is a high chance you will get sick.

The best protection is to have measles vaccination.

PLEASE SEE YOUR GP OR PRACTICE NURSE- VACCINATION IS FREE

 

Lunchtime Discos

Next Thursday 14th August there will be a lunchtime disco for our juniors and Friday 15th August a lunchtime disco for our seniors. It will cost $2 for entry into the disco and there will be glow sticks and flashing rings for sale from 50cents to $2.

 

Term 3 Clubs

Any Whānau wishing to run a club activity or help a teacher out please contact the school office. We have the following club activities on a Monday afternoon from 2.05-2.50pm

-           Jewellery Making/nail polish pamper club

-           Science experiments – one for Juniors and one for Seniors

-           Get fit club

-           Hip Hop

-           Ngā Toi (Kapahaka/weaving)

-           Ukelele/Games

Saturday Hockey

Saturday Hockey starts back this Saturday! Please remember that if your child arrives at Hockey without a mouthguard they will not be permitted to play. Can Mrs Woodman’s team please be at the turf by 9.30am to meet Whaea Lisa and Matua Willie and Whaea Claire’s team to meet at the turf at 10.30am.

 

Breakfast ClubThis term some of our senior students have stepped up as true leaders and are now running our Breakfast Club alongside one of the teachers every morning at school from 8:15-8:45am. Please encourage your tamariki to come along and enjoy breakfast with their friends. If there are any parents or whānau who can volunteer their time to help monitor breakfast club even if it’s once a term your contribution will be much appreciated.

 

Pioneer Village Trip

Rooms 14 and 4 will be going to visit The Pioneer Village on Monday 25th August as part of our “Change” inquiry, further information will come home closer to the date.

 

Kids Can supplies

During the holidays we received a new lot of supplies including:

Food snacks, shoes/jackets for new children, kutu lotion.

If Whānau wish to use the kutu lotion products they will need to come and collect them from the office please. It would be unsafe to send them home with children.

We also have a supply of bread (frozen and sometimes fresh) so do not hesitate to come in and get some bread if you need any, we would rather it be eaten and used than go to waste or to a pig bucket.

 

Bo-Deene’s Hip Hop

Hip hop classes every Friday afternoon at our school hall.  Junior classes preferably 8 -12yrs but flexible from 4-5pm $5 a class or $35 for the term and Teens/ Adults 5 – 6pm $8 a class or $50 for the term.

 

WINTER fest of Walking Art

The 5th Bi-annual wearable arts showcase brought to you by Kaikohe Community Arts Council.  Saturday 23rd August at the Kaikohe Memorial Hall, $10 per person, tickets available at Hidden Treasures, Passion8 and BoJumbles Kaikohe.
