All permanent and relieving teachers at Kaikohe East Primary School are up to date with their registrations. We have one beginning teacher at the moment that is provisionally registered and all other full time teachers, both permanent and fixed term, are fully registered. This includes RTLB, RTLit and Senior Management. Linda Curry, Graeme Shaw are due next this year and they will be reminded closer to the time. Registrations are checked regularly and reminders are given to teachers well ahead of time. Attached is a list of teacher registrations for further details.
It is also worth noting that Teacher Registrations will be increased as follows:
“Today we have sent a communication out to all teachers confirming that after extensive consultation we will be increasing the fee from:
$120 (including GST) to $216 (including GST) effective from 1 July 2010. Note, from 1 October 2010 the amount will become $220.80 (including GST) to reflect the rise in the GST rate from 12.5% to 15%.
This is the first time the fee has increased since 2002 and is necessary to fully meet the costs of providing the Council’s improved and expanded services to teachers.
While fee increases are always unwelcome, the Council can no longer absorb these additional costs without compromising our ability to deliver the efficient registration experience that we offer teachers today. “
Also, the Teachers Council will no longer be police vetting for non-teaching staff. This will now be done by NZ police as follows:
“One of the changes to the Act is that the New Zealand Teachers Council is no longer responsible for the Non Teacher Police Vetting process for schools and early childhood education services.
All vetting will now be done directly through the New Zealand Police. Attached is a letter from Inspector Joe Green explaining their new process.” See attached
All staff have been sent an email advising them of these changes.
