School Holidays

This Friday is the last day of term. School will re-open for Term 4 on Monday 15th October. If you have any enrolment or school queries over the holiday period do not hesitate to free phone Whaea Chicky on 0508 5245643 or call 111 if it is urgent.

5 year olds for Term 4 and 2019

If you have a child who is turning five either next term or in 2019 and starting school here with us we would love to know as soon as possible please. If you could let us know your child’s name, their date of birth and if you have time come in and complete an enrolment form with Whaea Chicky. If you have available your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record they would be helpful too. Call the office if you have any questions.

Photo Day

Today we had school photos taken.  We expect orders to arrive back at school by the end of October from Photo Life. This is the second time we have used this company If whānau have any feedback for us feel free to send us a text to 021411534, email admin@kaikeast.school.nz or pm us on our school facebook page.  

Classes for 2019

Staff are over the next few weeks starting to organise all children into classrooms for 2019. If you have a preference of the class you would like your child to be in next year if we can accommodate that, we will try. Any queries please feel free to contact or come and see Whaea Chicky.

Cultural Festival ThanksCongratulations to our Kanikani rōpū and Kapa Haka who represented us so well at last weeks Kaikohekohe Cultural Festival. Thanks also to our fabulous kaiako, kaiāwhina and whānau who prepared our roopu so well. Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa! Tino rawe hoki!

Tee Ball and Touch

Next term Tee Ball and Touch will be starting up again on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please let us know if you may be keen on coaching a team. Lydia will be sending out more information next term.

Northland College Fundraiser

Please support the Northland College Senior Te Reo Māori trip hāngi fundraiser, Thursday 27th September 2018, Northland College.  $10 3 meat, pumpkin, potato, kūmara, cabbage and fried bread.  Please contact Northland College if you would like one, 09 4011532.

Tomorrow we are expecting two trucks to arrive on Purdy Street. All classes will have the opportunity to view the truck and learn about how to keep safe as a pedestrian in our town and on country roads.

Hoodies for the Junior SyndicateToday all children in the junior classes (1,2,3,4,5,M) will bring a black hoodie home. The hoodies have been given to our little children from Paullette at Double Happy kids to help keep our children warm over the cold months. 

9km run or walk – Toia Rd to Kaikohe

14km run or walk – Ōkaihau to Kaikohe

21km run or walk – Ōkaihau to Kaikohe
