Apology

Last week we printed the newsletter with an incomplete message, here it is complete, our apologies.  We also welcome Matua Jimmy who has been helping Matua Boss.

Also, there will be no newsletter next week due to the school being closed for Easter.

 

Welcome and Reminder

This week we would like to welcome to our school:  Sky Tahere and Hararei Rakete-Wiri.

 

Mrs Birchall’s Unveiling

This Saturday 30th March the Robust/Birchall whanau will be unveiling the headstone of the late Mrs Hariata Birchall and other whanau members at the Aperahama Church on Taheke Road, at 11am.

 

Role Models

Congratulations to our School Role Models acknowledged at our last School Assembly:

Room 3: Devontei Yukich, Room 4: Ben Harding, Room 6: Kingitanga, Manawanui: Te Watene Tuhiwai, Tumanako: Leilani Kea, Room 14: Josephine Busby and Room 15: Riva Emile.

 

School Uniform Choice

We are pleased to advise that we now have the third uniform sample at the school office. All whanau and children will get the opportunity to select either Sample A, B or C. Please feel free to come in and make your vote.  We invite you also to come along to our next School Assembly on Friday 5th April at 10.30am as we will be modelling the uniforms again for whanau. You may change your vote once you see the uniforms on the children?

Easter Holiday

A reminder to whanau that school will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Monday and Tuesday. School will reopen again on Wednesday 3rd April.

 

Weetbix Tryathlon News

Our triathletes are training well at school we have a training in Paihia next Friday 5th April leaving the school at 9:15am.  If you are able to come along and help please contact the school office any help will be appreciated.  Permission slips will be sent home with children.

 

School Trustee Elections

Attached to this week’s newsletter we have an information pamphlet about the Board of Trustees, becoming and or nominating a Trustee and what it involves as we approach our School Trustee Elections.

 

HEHA DayLast Friday a group of year 5 & 6 tamariki participated in The Heha Hakinakina Fun Day at Lyndvart Park. This event was to celebrate the end of the Healthy Eating and Healthy Activities Program that has been running in our kura for the last 8 weeks by Te Hau Ora o Kaikohe. The event was a success with a variety activities available even tug-of-war! Our tamariki looked flash in our sports uniforms. Thanks to the Whanau that turned up on the day to support and special thanks to Whaea Earlene and Whaea Lorraine for their awhi with team organisation.

 

Rippa Rugby

There is a Rippa Rugby Tournament next Friday 5th April 9:45am – 2pm in Kerikeri.  We will be sending two teams a Year 3 & 4 team and a Year 5& 6 team.  Permission slips will be sent home today.

 

NZ Book Month

For NZ Book Month in 2013 we are giving every student a $5 book voucher to use. Please note that these vouchers are due to expire on the 31st March 2013.

 

Year 5 and 6 Overnight

All Year 5 and 6’s from Rooms 12,14,15 and Tumanako are planning an overnight stay on Thursday 4th April. A letter with details will be coming home today with these children. If you have any queries please come and see your child’s teacher.

 

Furniture for Sale

We still have furniture for sale desk and chair sets $5 each as well as large table with 6 chairs $60 each.

 

New class for Term 2

A new Year 4-6 class will begin in Term 2 that Matua Jim will teach. Whanau of the children who will move into this class will be contacted by phone and letter this week. Supporting Matua Jim and this class will be Stacy Mataki-Kaiaruna. This means that a new teacher will be appointed for the year to teach children remaining in Room 12

 

Whanau Hui thanks

Many thanks to the whanau who came along last week to our Whanau Hui, we hope you found the meetings beneficial.
