Rooms 1 and 4 to Lonsdale ParkRooms 1 and 4 are in the process of planning a two day camp to Lonsdale park outdoor education centre near Matauri Bay. The dates for this are Wednesday the 2nd of April to Friday the 4thof  April.  They will be requiring as much parent help as possible to cover the two night stay.  More information will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.  If you have any concerns please contact the class teachers Room 1 Mrs Rebecca Croucher and Miss Natalie Snow or room 4 Miss Ceri Mason.

Photo at Maihi Park

Willie Maihi has requested our children appear in a Northern Age newspaper article about the Pa of Kaikohekohe situated next Lindvart Park.  All classes will walk over to the park on Wednesday 12th March at 10.30am for the photo. If you do not wish your child to be involved please ring the school office, text Whaea Chicky or write us a note. If we don’t hear from you we will assume it is ok for your child to be in the photo.

School GalaThe School Gala will be held on Saturday the 22nd March starting at 10am.

At this stage we require helpers for various stalls and hangi preparation.  If you are available to help in any way please come in and see Kohi in the school office or by phone on 4011532.

Start sending to school any non-perishable items suitable for a class grocery hamper, clean items of clothing, bric a brac for the white elephant, clean newspaper and bags for hangi. A couple of days before the Gala your child will also be bringing home a cake box which will need to be returned on the morning of the Gala with some tasty baking in it.

Kutus/Head Lice

At the moment we have quite a problem with a few children who have kutus.  Whanau are reminded that if you need lotion to help get rid of kutus to call into the school office and collect some free! For those our school public health nurse, Whaea Lorreen, may contact Whanau who we think may need support with this.

Whanau Hui/Sausage Sizzle

We would like to thank all whanau who attended our Whanau Hui/Sausage sizzle yesterday afternoon.  We really appreciate it.

Each classroom will be drawing the prize winners of those who attended.

Year 5-8 Ki-o-rahi Tournament

There will be a Ki-o-rahi event held on the 7th March 2014 at Lindvart Park from 10am to 2pm.  We will be taking 2 teams to participate in this fun event. If your child came home with a permission slip please get it back to their teacher as soon as possible. Whanau are very welcome to come and support.

School start and finish timesA reminder to whanau that school starts at 8.50am and it is important that your child/children are at school at this time.

Similarly school ends at 3pm and it is also improtant that your child remains at school until this time. A few whanau regularly collect their child/children before 3pm and the children miss out on important things as they do when they are late.
