Farewell and Thanks
On Friday we say farewell and thanks to Matua Francis who will be leaving us to do day to day relieving in ours and other schools. We welcome back Whaea Marje who will be teaching in Rangimarie for Term 4.
We also farewell Mr Shaw on Friday who is on sabbatical leave for Term 4. He will return to our school next year.
Loud Shirt Day
Here are a few pictures to confirm the fantastic day we all had! A total of $380 was raised and will be sent to “The Hearing House” to support there efforts.
Hockey SuccessOn Saturday at the Hockey Prize giving we were very pleased to be presented with three trophies – Bev Beverwijch Division 2, Division 3 Major Round Winners and Division 2 Major Round Winners.
Of course our success can be attributed to the determination of our children, the great whānau support they get and to their coaches: Leanne Tarawa and Kohi Manukau our special thanks.
Rhythm ‘n Groove
Our special congratulations also to our two representative groups who competed this week in Kawakawa at the Rhythm ‘n Groove. Aniwaniwa group won a trophy and so too did our KPCU roopu. Special thanks to Whaea Khrystal, Mr Shaw and Aniwaniwa support staff for their great efforts in preparing our groups.
Term 4 Trips
Next term some classes have planned trips that are integral to their Term 4 classroom programmes. Last night the BOT approved the following trips in principle. Further detail must be presented to Whaea Chicky for final approval.
Kimihia to Whirinaki – two nights
Te Korowai o te Aroha to Omapere/Kokohuia Marae from 21st November to 23rd November
Room 1 to Whangarei – day trip to the Lion Park
Rooms 5 and 6 – overnight to Kelly Tarlton’s on 27th November
Finalisation of trips will happen at least a month prior to the trip dates and details about costings etc will come home following this. If you have any queries for now do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
Pirate Party
Today room 1 had a pirate day. It was a lot of fun and all the children enjoyed running around and being pirates. Thanks to all the whānau in room 1 who went to the effort of dressing their children up and supplying something for a shared lunch.
Northland College Senior Concert 2012
This Thursday, 27th September, Northland College will be holding their Senior Concert 2012 at the Northland College Hall. Food stalls will run from 4:30-6:30pm, the concert will begin at 7pm with a gold coin entry and is expected to finish by 9pm.
Hospice Volunteers Needed
Hospice Mid-Northland is a free service that offers help to patients and their family/whānau with a life limiting illness. Our goal is to help people make the most of their lives, to live every moment in whatever way is important to them. Free Meningococcal C Vaccination
The Meningococcal C vaccine is still available FREE through most GPs in Northland for all children and youth aged 12 months up to under 20 years, who did not receive it in the emergency programme in 2011.
“Kick It” holiday programme
The holiday Program will be run from Monday 1st October – Friday 5th October, 9am until 3pm at Lindvart Park in the Term 3 school holidays, this is only available to students aged 10-16 years of age. Students who are eligible will bring home a registration form today with the newsletter.
