Newsletter 201235 - 13 November 2012

Early Newsletter

Due to many children either not attending or leaving school on Wednesday early we have decided to publish this week’s newsletter early.

EARLY CLOSING, 12.30pm TOMORROW

Tomorrow Wednesday 14th November at 12.30pm all teachers are required to attend a paid union meeting until 3.30pm. There will be minimal supervision available at school until 3pm for children so we are asking whānau to consider collecting their child/children at 12.30pm or agreeing to them walking home at 12.30pm.

Please complete the form sent home last week and return it to school so that we know what your child is to do on this day.  If you do not return a form or contact us we will have to make a sensible call on the day. Any queries please phone Whaea Chicky.

Kaikohe Christmas Parade

Our community Christmas Parade is due to be held on Saturday 8th December. If there is a whānau who would like to offer to prepare our school float please come and see Whaea Chicky for details. The theme for this year’s float is Animal and Bird World!

Unfortunately if we do not have any whānau able to help we will not be having a school float this year.

A School Uniform?

Recently I asked for whānau ideas for 2013. One idea that has been proposed is school having a school uniform. Please consider this idea and in the next few newsletters I will be asking whānau to give feedback as to why you agree or disagree with the idea of a school uniform. I will publish whānau ideas without names included and some time in Term 1 2013. I will survey whānau for their final yes or no with a view to going ahead if we have 70% positive response.

Bus Expectations

All bus children will be bringing home today a letter from Mr Tapene at Northland College. Whānau please read the letter and if you have any queries do not hesitate to contact Mr Tapene or Whaea Chicky.
