Newsletter 202006 - 4 March 2020

Welcome

A very special welcome to our following new tamariki and their  whānau:

Winter Tua-Taiapo and Airoe Paraha

CoronaVirus

New Zealand has been free of the virus to date, but we knew that would not last, the first case has been reported in New Zealand. Schools will continue to reinforce messages about hygiene practices. Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence:

-wash your hands often with soap and water before and after eating as well as after attending the toilet

-cover coughs and sneezes with clean tissues or your elbow

-put used tissues in the bin.

Water bottle DeliveriesYesterday we had 8 pallets of water bottles for our tamariki delivered . We really appreciate the Ministry of Education organising this for many schools in the North. Special thanks to TranzNorth for transporting the deliveries to us.

Further to this we now have a full water tank of water to use should we need it in the near future.

Tryathlon

Many of our Tryathletes are doing a great job and coming to training however there are some children that need to put more effort into making sure they are at training please. Training will continue every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm. The school has paid for all registrations so we need all children to be committed. Children must bring their bikes to school for training.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club has started and runs from 8am - 8.45.

All tamariki are welcome to come to the school hall to have a breakfast kai to start their day. Weetbix, fruit, yoghurt, baked beans and toast. Yum!

Kī-o-rahi

We will have two senior Kī-o-rahi teams entered into the Whakataetae Ki-o-rahi tournament on Thursday 19th March 2020 being held at Lindvart Park. Students involved will have a permission form and more information go home closer to the time.
