Welcome

Welcome back to school everyone!

This week we welcome to our school: Maia and Joel Harris, Viennah Rodger, Caeden Johnson and Shakaea Rua.

 

Farewell ABCDuring the last week of the school holidays ABC Daycare moved to their new flash building on Park Road.  We wish them all the best and miss their company already.

Sometime this term they will be coming back to see us to officially say goodbye.

 

Cultural Festival

This year the annual Cultural Festival will again be held at Northland College, the   dress rehearsal will be held on Tuesday the 17th September and the Cultural Festival performance day will be Thursday the 19th September at 11am, gold coin koha on entry.

 

Term 3 ClubsAll children have been placed in a club option. Clubs will happen every Thursday afternoon from 1.30-3pm. We are very appreciative to the Whanau members who are helping us with clubs. If you think you have time to help out come and see us at the office or phone us.

 

School Photos

Our school photos are scheduled for Friday the 13th September by photographer Liz Davies. Order forms are attached.

 

Kids Can Dress Up Day

On Friday 9th August we are planning a Dress up day to raise funds for Kids Can.  Kids Can have helped us so very much with food, jackets/coats, nit oil and combs etc. On this day we are asking for all children to come in “dress up” clothes and buy a $2 sausage sizzle. All funds raised will go to Kids Can.

 

Pioneer Village Visit

Room 14 will be visiting Pioneer Village on the morning of Monday 12th August as part of our study on life 100 years ago. There is no cost and we will be back in time for lunch.

Hockey Congratulations

Congratulations to Dutchess Broomfield and Charity Wharerau who have been selected for the Bay of Islands Hockey Representative team to play in Whangarei this Sunday 4th August, good luck girls!

 

Urban Camp Feedback

We are very proud to inform whanau that we received an awesome letter from a family who were visiting Parakai Springs at the same time as our Year 5 and 6 students.  They wrote to us congratulating the children on how “delightful and well behaved” they were and how it “was a pleasure to share the pools” with them.

 

Kaikohe BasketballStarting today, 31st July, Northland College will be hosting a Wednesday School Grade Basketball Winter League for mixed Year 4 – 8 students from 4.30pm to 6pm.  Rally is tonight.  For more information please contact Mel Rameka 020 4001 2211.

 

Term 3 dates

Term 3 commenced Monday 29th July and will end Friday 27th September.

 

People’s Choice at The Warehouse Kaikohe

Please remember whanau that when you make purchases at our Warehouse store to collect your discs and place them in our school slot just as you walk out through the doors.  We will win a donation if we are the most popular choice.

 

Board of Trustees

The Board Members Governance Review workshop is at the school at 1:30pm on Wednesday 7th August.

The next board meeting is at the school at 1:30pm on Wednesday 14th August.

 

DDF Dance Classes hereTe Riwhi Morunga, will be tutoring dance classes at our school starting on Monday 19th August.  Classes will be on Mondays in the school hall and Wednesdays in Room 13. Classes are from:

3.15 for 4-7 year olds, cost $5 each

3.45pm for 8-11 year olds, cost $10 each

4.30pm For Teens, cost $10 each

The workshops continue until Wednesday 18th September.  Contact Alannah on 4010495 for any further information.
