Welcome New Students

School Gala Day

A huge thank you to everyone for their help, support and attendance at our recent school gala day! We were really happy to see so many people here enjoying themselves.  Thank you to all our staff, whānau helpers and local businesses who supported us and made the Gala such a success!

  

Class Hamper Box WinnersThe class hamper boxes were judged on Friday morning before the Gala. One class from each Syndicate was selected as the winning class for having the best class hamper in their Syndicate.

Gala Raffles

We will be selling more Gala Raffle tickets from the office over the next couple of weeks. Gala Raffles range in price from $1 to $5 and we have lots of really cool prizes to win.  Come to the office if you would like to view all the

Raffles and or buy a ticket.

 

Marae Stay Reminder

The Senior Syndicate (Rooms 8, 14,15,16) will be staying overnight tonight, Wednesday 16th March, the Middle Syndicate classes (Rooms 4,5,6,9) overnight on Thursday 17th March and the Junior Syndicate classes (Rooms 1,2,3,7) just for the day on Friday 18th March.

Details have been sent home, if you have any queries please contact your child’s teacher. The list of gear needed for the trip has been posted on our school face book page.

 

Swimming SportsInterschool Swimming Sports:

Well done to all our swimmers who represented us so well at last week’s swimming sports held at Northland College. Apologies for the very late notice re the change of venue.

 

Hockey

We are looking for one or two parents to take our year 3 and 4 hockey team for next term on Saturday mornings. We need to know as soon as possible. Regos are due. Whaea Rehutai has kindly offered to take the year 5 n 6 team.

 

Netball

We are looking for anyone keen to take junior and senior netball on a Saturday next term. Teaming up with a buddy might help.  Please contact the school office if you are interested.

 

Weetbix Triathlon

Children will come home with a notice next week of what is required. We are looking for caged trailers to take our bikes out to Paihia on April 10th. Whānau who have bikes already please let us know. The school will provide rash shirts for swimming on the day and rock shoes if kids don't already have them. Togs for girls please, we have shorts for boys at school. Bike shorts to be worn by girls to prevent chaffing. We will also help accommodate for this.

 

Football

Kaikohe AFC Football club is holding a fun day at Lindvart Park this Saturday 19th from 10am - 2pm to gain interest of kids and adults who are keen to play soccer. Both boys and girls welcome. There will be a free sausage sizzle for all who attend.

 

Recent Sport Events

Whaea Rehutai’s Rippa Team who won the finals in the Year 3 and 4 division at Lindvart Park last week will be attending another Rippa event on Thursday 31st March in Kerikeri.  Details to come home with the newsletter next week.
