Newsletter 201616 - 1 June 2016

Welcome

This week we welcome the following new students and their whanau to our school: Kowhai Johnson, Saphire and Brydon Lonsdale

Queen’s Birthday

Wishing everyone a happy long weekend. Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday 6th June. School will start back on Tuesday 7th June.

Please return school reading books

Could all whanau please have a good look over the weekend for any school reading books or library books. Our school reading book supplies seem to be very low at the moment and we think that this is because children may have brought books home and forgotten to return them. Please return any books, no questions asked! Teachers will be rewarding any children who return books.

Netball

Due to this weekend being a long weekend there will be no JMB Netball on Saturday. If Netball is cancelled on any Saturday we will post this on our Kaikohe East School Facebook page. McDonald’s Players of the day for Netball will start next week.

Hockey

Due to this weekend being a long weekend there will be no JMB Hockey on Saturday. If Hockey is cancelled on any Saturday we will post this on our Kaikohe East School Facebook page. Many thanks to McDonald’s Kaikohe for providing us with our Players of the Day certificates. Congratulations to the following Players of the Day for the last three weekends.

From the Green Team: Sabina Halliday, Rosemary Hourua and Jayda Dalton

From the Yellow Team: Havahna Moon, Coby Waerea-Walker and Ngatohu Padlie

Evacuation/Lock Down practices

Last week due to severe weather we were unable to hold an Evacuation practise and a Lock Down practise to be sure that our children know what to do in either situation.

School Trustee Elections 2016

Declaration of Staff Election Results

At the close of nominations, as there was only one valid nomination received I hereby declare Graeme Shaw duly elected.

Declaration of Parent Election Results

At the close of nominations, as the number of valid nominations was fewer than the number of vacancies required to be filled, I hereby declare the following duly elected: Lisa Tuwhangai, Alicia Tomuri and Frances Petera.

Signed:

Kohi Woodman

Returning Officer
