Newsletter 201604 - 24 February 2016

Welcome New Students

A special welcome to our new tamariki and their whānau: Taonga Reti, Kauri and Arlee Tarawa.

Whanau Hui

Teachers have set aside Tuesday 1st March from 3.10pm until about 7pm to meet with whānau to talk about school goals, your child’s goals, to share work your child has done so far and to get to know you and listen to anything you may wish to discuss.

Appointment options are being sent home today and will need to be returned to the office by this Friday so that your confirmed time can be sent home on Monday.

Room 2 Whānau Hui

Because most of Room 2 children have only been at school for a few weeks/months the teachers in Room 2 will be having two meetings for whānau to attend. The first meeting will be at 3.15pm and the second meeting will be at 5.15pm. Therefore the whānau of Room 2 children will have two options of time to attend. There will also be time after these two meetings for whānau to meet specifically about their child if they wish.

NEW Gala Ticket System

There will be NO REFUNDS on any ticket, bands, hāngi, raffles or chit card sales.

We are using a new ticketing system this year, offering you a few different options.

School Gala DayOur School Gala Day is planned for Saturday 12th March, please mark this in your calendar and consider how you might help support our fundraising event.

Thank you to the whānau who have offered help. We still need helpers, please ring us or send us a note to let us know how you can help.

We have lots of activities planned for the Gala, one of them being 30 minute swimming pool sessions so please remind your tamariki to bring togs and a towel if they wish to take advantage of this Gala activity.

$20 Band – day pass to “Bumper Balls”, “Caro’s Crazy Critters”, “Bouncy Castles”, “Bouncy Slide” and “Hot Rods” (otherwise $5 each per turn).

$10 Band – day pass to “Caro’s Crazy Critters”, “Bouncy Castles” and “Bouncy Slides” (otherwise $5 each per turn).

We are allowing whānau the option to “pay the bands off” in the weeks leading up to the gala.  Please see Kohi in the office.

These areas will be clearly marked on the day using a colour-coded system ($20 green and $10 blue).

Alternatively, on the day we will be selling “Chit cards” at $2, $5 and $10 values that can be used at all gala stalls other than the Hāngi and Raffle table which will be CASH ONLY.

If you have any queries please feel free to contact us at the school office.

Cake Stall

Each family will receive a cake box for the cake stall. These cakes are judged, and winners receive small prizes. Cake boxes are to be returned by 12 noon Friday 11th March or taken to the cake stall on the Saturday morning. Please contact us if you are able to make more cakes and need extra boxes.
