Welcome

A very special welcome to Kansas Mauahara, who started at our school this week.

 

Mrs Logan’s Retirement

Mrs Miriam Logan who has worked at our school since 1994 will be retiring at the end of the year. We thank Mrs Logan for the great contributions she has made to our school and wish her all the best in her retirement.

 

Survey Home

All children brought home a survey (on green paper) for whānau to complete and return to school this week.  The purpose of the survey is to get whānau ideas and thoughts about what they think is important about what our children learn when they are at school and whether or not there are any changes needing to be made for their future.  All returned surveys will go into a draw to win a new school polo shirt!  Please return your survey by Wednesday to go into the draw

 

Room 15 - 2015

Today the children who will be in Room 15 next year are bringing home letter about Room 15 possibly being a Level 3 Maori Funded classroom.  If any whānau have any queries do not hesitate to come and see either Whaea Chicky or Whaea Kelli.

 

Reports

Reports will be coming home today with children in addressed envelopes. Please take the time to read your child’s report and congratulate them for the good things and support them with their next steps.  A separate sheet will be included with each report to help whānau better understand the levels we talk about in the report.   Please do not hesitate to come and see your child’s teacher if you need to about any aspect of their report.

 

School Touch

Finals for Touch rugby are on tomorrow at Lindvart Park.

 

End of Term 4

The school term ends on Friday 12th December at 1pm. Buses will not be running early.

 

Transition days for 2015

This week (Monday and Tuesday) all children spent two days in their class for next year.

 

Free Lunch

All children will have the option of having a hot free lunch on Tuesday 9th December.  The lunch is being provided by a Charity and it is likely to continue in 2015, there will be more opportunities for hot free lunches.

 

Mounted Games Winners

Congratulations to the following children who had their “Mounted Games” art judged and have won free tickets to the Mounted Games that will be held from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December at the Kaikohe Show Grounds.  Winners are:

Manawanui - Waiaroha Stowers, Lucy Naera and Mihi Clark. 

Room 4 - Maia Harris, D’Jhan Wilson, Nicole Moon and Te Aute Broomfield.

These children will be bringing home their free tickets today.

 

School Uniform 2015

We will be expecting all children in school uniform by the beginning of next year so come and see Kohi at the office about part time payments or purchase now!

School Polo shirts are $35 and you will receive a free pair of black pants while stocks last.

We also are ordering the polar fleece jacket (full or half zip) These will be priced according to sizes therefore from a size 6 – 14 will be $55 each any size bigger will cost $65 each.

 

End of Year Celebration

On Wednesday 10th December we will be having a “Run, Jump, Throw” Day and Hangi for our End of Year Whanau Celebration. We welcome all whānau and friends to come along to enjoy the day! Lunchtime Hangi - $8 or Sausage Sizzle - $2. Sausage orders can be made on the day, however please place your hangi order and make payment at the school office now, limited hangi will be made.

 

Hangi Helpers

Any help with Hangi preparation please by whānau on Tuesday 9am in the school hall.

 

Health Consultation

Schools must consult with whānau about what Health Topics they wish their children to learn about.  Recently Teachers and children have come up with the following possible topics for 2015.
