Literacy and Numeracy groups

This term Mr Shaw has started a special Literacy group that works with him every morning from 9 -9.30am to help them make faster progress in reading and writing. Next week Whaea Kelli will be starting a special Maths group who will work from 11.30-12.15 every day to help them make faster progress in Maths. All children in Mr Shaw’s group brought a letter home last week. Whaea Kelli will be sending home a letter today to the children who will start in her Maths group. As the year goes on these groups will change. If you have any queries don’t hesitate to come in and see either Mr Shaw or Whaea Kelli.

Room 8 ClassSince Whaea Tina started in Room 8 at the beginning of Term 2 we have had an influx of 5 year olds who have arrived at school ready to learn.

Here they are practising reading their alphabet card. Learning the alphabet and the sounds each letter makes is a great help to our 5 year olds when they are beginning to read and write.

Breakfast Club every dayA big thank you to our volunteers Ani, Sophie, Lois and Crystal who are currently running the breakfast club. Your help is much appreciated. Breakfast Club is in the hall every morning from 8.00-8.30 am. All children and their whānau are welcome to come and enjoy a nutritious breakfast to kick start their day.
