Lateness to School

Could all whanau remember that school begins at 8.50am so it is important that all tamariki are at school by this time please.

 

Sports Fee Paid By School

After the success of last year’s trial, we have decided to provide this service again this year.  Any tamariki wishing to play Saturday Hockey, Netball for the school, or who play for Kaikohe Rugby Club or any Kaikohe League Club the school will cover your season fee. The aim of this initiative is to try to encourage as many of our tamariki to play sport and also to encourage whanau to come along and support them.

 

JMB Netball   

JMB Netball continues this Saturday at Lindvart Park. All games will start promptly at 9am and will be finished at about 9.50am. All players need to be at Lindvart Park to meet Mrs Stillwell by 8.30am.

 

BOI JMC HockeyHockey starts this Saturday, 18th May.  We have two teams entered for this weekend’s opening tournament.  Fun Sticks, our babies, start at 9:15am and the Kiwi Sticks, big kids, will start at 9:30am.  All players need to be at the turf at 8:30am to meet Miss Manukau and your other coaches. 

School Uniform choice

We are continuing to work on implementing a voluntary school uniform by the beginning of Term 4 of this year .

Free Nit/Kutu Combs and Spray

We currently have free Nit/Kutu combs and spray available for any parents who would like them, please see Kohi at the office if you would like a comb and a spray as we will not be distributing them to children. These have been kindly donated by the Kids Can organisation.

 

Become a Board Member

The School Trustee Elections are being held this year, and we need you to get involved.

 

School Trustee Election nomination’s close tomorrow the 16th May 2013 at 12pm. 

 

If you know anyone who is interested please either contact the office or nominate them using forms that are still available at the school office.

New Enrolments

Due to overwhelming numbers in Te Korowai o te Aroha – Maori Bilingual Unit, at this stage we are unable to take any new enrolments in to Manawanui, Rangimarie and Tumanako.  Students will be placed on a waiting list and in to mainstream classes until spaces are available.

Rheumatic Fever Swabbing

This term the Rheumatic Fever team are travelling around to our local schools doing Mass Throat Swabbing, because of this they are unable to do the usual weekly visits to our school, however, we would like to remind parents that if your child complains of a sore throat to please let Kohi in the office know, we will be keeping a record and contacting them to come in and swab when we need them.

 

Furniture for Sale

We still have furniture for sale desk and chair sets $5 each as well as large table with 6 chairs $60 each.

 

Zumba ClassesZumba classes every Thursday 6pm – 7pm here in our school hall. $5 per person or $50 per club.

 

BOI Gym Club

Starting Tuesday 3.30pm – 4.30pm for 2-7 year olds

Thursdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm for 8-12+ year olds at Kaikohe Intermediate School hall. Cost $40 per term. Contact Karla Tawhai on 09 4011706 or just turn up.

 

Rugby LeagueJunior Rugby League again this Sunday, 9am at Lindvart Park.  They have the following grades; 7yrs, 9yrs and 11yrs.  Everyone is welcome!

 

Ohaeawai Under 10 Rugby

All students interested in playing Saturday rugby for an Under 10’s team please contact Roger Ludbrook on either 0211651703 or 4059350.  Kaikohe Rugby is only able to field an Under 9 and Under 13’s team this season.  Trainings are every Tuesday & Thursday, 4pm at Ohaeawai Rugby Club.
