OneSight

OneSight is an international organisation that believes that “everyone should have access to world-class eye care regardless of circumstance”. The OneSight team will be at Kaikohe East School to give every child a free eye examination this Friday 15 September. OneSight will provide free prescription glasses for your child if required.


Kaikohe East School Board

The Kaikohe East School Board meets at the school at 1:30pm on Wednesday 20 September.

Competition will start the first Wednesday after the School Holidays. Further info for this will be sent out real soon so please watch this space. Please let the office know if you can coach a team.

On Monday 25 September Del Rameka will be at Kaikohe East School to run a coaching session for the school teams.

This is a Kaikohe Rotary fun event on the Rail Trail on Sunday 1 October. Walk or run 9km, 14km or 21km. Free buses from Kaikohe to the start. Finish at the Kaikohe Pioneer Village live day where there will be fun activities and lots of prizes. Go to www.kaikoherotary/t for details and registrations. PhotoLife will be here to take class and individual photos on Thursday 28 September. Envelopes must be returned to the school by Wednesday 27 September. If your child did not receive an envelope contact the school office. Envelopes for sibling photos are also available from the school office. 2017 Bay Marlins Tball/Slow Pitch Little League

Room 5 Omanaia Visit

Room 5 will be travelling to Omanaia School on Wednesday 27 September to return the visit that some children from Omanaia school made to their class last year. This visit is part of their hauora focus around making and maintaining friendships and exploring the differences between small and large schools.


Touch Rugby

Next term we will enter some teams into an after school weekly touch tournament at Lindvart Park. If you are keen to coach please let us know.

Duffy AssemblyOn Tuesday 12 September Alistair McIntyre, also known as ‘Mr Mac’ was here to talk about his journey as a heavy machine writer who become a childrens’ book author. Twice a year every child in the school receives two free books from Duffy Books in Homes. This programme at Kaikohe East School is sponsored by Mainfreight. Thanks Mainfreight!

All school groups will go to the hall on Tuesday 19 September for a dress rehearsal.


Election 2017Election Day is Saturday 23 September. Kaikohe East School Hall is a polling booth on election day. Advance voting began on 11 September.
