Speech Competition

Every year we have two representatives attend the local Primary Schools Rotary Speech Competition. Prior to this we hold a school-wide speech competition whereby all children in each class write a speech, learn it, say it and finalists are selected to participate in our School Competition. Our tentative School Competition has been planned for Thursday 12th June. More details later.

Class sizes/new children

Staff are currently considering some changes of classes for a few children as class numbers in some areas of the school are almost at capacity.

Therefore it is important that we know if you have a child in your Whanau who is turning 5 this year and will be attending our school or if you have any Whanau possibly moving to our school this year.

Please contact us or come and see us if you do.

Bring the child’s birth certificate or passport and their plunket book or their before school check information if you can.

We can still enrol your child without this information but do need it at some stage soon after they start school.

Opening of Room 3

If enrolments continue this term it is likely that Room 3 will open at the beginning of Term 3 for all new 5 year olds who have started this term and who continue to enrol in Terms 3 and 4. More details later.

Moving children in TKOTA

Teachers in TKOTA (Manawanui, Rangimarie, Tumanako) are currently having to move children into new classes. The move involves about 12 children in total. By moving these children we are creating spaces for new enrolments into Manawanui. All children being moved should have received a phone call from their child’s current teacher. Letters are also being sent home today. Any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

2014 Election Day

Election Day this year is Saturday 20th September and Kaikohe East School will again host voting booths. We encourage everyone to vote!
