School holidays start this Saturday 4 July.

School starts again on Monday 23 July.

 

Education in Kaikohe

Many thanks to the large number of parents who completed the survey about Education in Kaikohe that was sent home last week.

The time for this survey has been extended to 22 July.

Kaikohe East Uniforms

There are some whanau who have already paid for polo shirts but were waiting for sizes that were out of stock.

Our order has arrived at last.

We now have all sizes available at the school office.

School polo shirts are $35 each.

 

Kaikohe Rotary Speech ContestA big thankyou to the many whanau members who joined us at the Kaikohe Rotary Schools Speech contest last Wednesday with students and supporters from Kaikohe Christian School and Ohaeawai School.

 

Term 3 Topic

All classes for Term 3 will be doing work about “Hauora” This may involve work in classrooms about how to keep healthy, what can we do to help ourselves and others be healthy, taking care of ourselves and others. All classes will also be visiting the Life Education caravan during the term.

 

Sports Uniforms for sale

We have excess Mitre brand dark green and gold sports uniforms for sale that could be used for netball/hockey. We are selling them for $10 each (skirt or top) Sizes range from children’s size 4 to 18. A sample uniform is available at the office to view. We have about 30 of each available.

 

Tumanako Class Party

Tumanako is having a pyjama pizza party tomorrow. Please bring $2 to contribute to our shared kai. Wearing pyjamas to school is optional.

 

Lost Property

Parents are welcome to ask at the office if they wish to look through the collection of un-named lost property. From time to time this is disposed of to a charity.

 

Weekend Sports

There is Netball this Saturday 4 July, but then there is no netball until after the school holidays.

There is no Hockey this Saturday. Hockey will start again after the holidays.

 

Hockey RepsCongratulations go out to the following students who have been selected for the Bay of Islands Y5-6 Rep teams to play in Whangarei on 23 August: Esther Edmonds. Dijonay Padlie, Huia Clarke, Ngatohu Padlie, and Lazarus Edmonds.

 

Room 4 Class Party

Room 4 will be having a pyjama and movie day tomorrow (Thursday) to celebrate the end of term.

We will also be having a shared lunch so please send along something small for your child to share.

We will be eating at 12:30.Please come and join us if you’re free.

 

Kaikohe East Playgroup

There are still vacancies in the playgroup for any 4 year old tamariki who are not currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Centre or programme.

The Playgroup is being run by two amazing young mothers – Emily Rogers who has a degree in Early Childhood and Mikaela Beazley Tango who has been instrumental in the success of the playgroup in the main street.
