1210 Attendance Report Term 3 2012
Attendance Report Term 3 2012
· Attendance is a little up on term 2. (82.3% compared to 81.7% in term 2) That is good for a winter term.
· A more important comparison is with term 3 of last year. 82.3% attendance (17.7% absent) compares with 79.9% (20.1% absent) for term 3 of 2011.
· 17.7% absent however still equates to about 46 pupils absent each day, but that compares to 60 pupils per day for term 3 of last year.
· 13 pupils had 100% attendance for this term.82% have attended above 90% of the time so far this year with 5 at 100% so far this year.
· 28 pupils have attended less than 75% of the time so far this year. 4 children are close to being away half the time.
· We are unlikely to achieve our goal of a whole school attendance rate of 85% over the year but we should improve on 2011 when the whole year attendance was only 80.7%. My estimate is that it will end up around 83%

There is no significant difference between the genders
The small number of non-Maori pupils makes comparison irrelevant
We don’t usually report on attendance by class as the trends usually follow the age of the pupils.
The trend noted last term of the bi-lingual classes (Manawanui, Rangimarie and Tumanako) having higher attendance has continued however. This is particularly noticeable in the junior (year 1 – 3) rooms where the average attendance is 85% compared to the school year 1-3 figure of more like 78%
As noted in previous reports, children attend better as they get older.
