Walking with an ANZACThis Thursday 23rd April Room 15 students will be walking to the Kaikohe Memorial Hall to visit the Memorial plaques as part of our Anzac Inquiry. Whanau are welcome to join us. We will have karakia and himene and lay something we have made to remember our local heroes. We will take note of the names and back at school we will research who some of these brave men were.

Room 17

Due to large class sizes in the Senior Syndicate we opened a new, Year 4-6 senior class at the beginning of the week. Whaea Joy Schwieters will teach this class until the end of the year. All whanau of children moving into this room should have received a letter and or a phone call during the last week of Term 1. If any whanau have any concerns about their child moving, do not hesitate to come and see us.

Uniforms

We now have most sizes of polo shirts available, $35 each. We also have the polar fleece jackets. Sizes 6 – 14 are $55. Bigger sizes are $65.

For now any children with no uniform should feel free to wear their usual clothes or there are green polos at The Warehouse Kaikohe that are ok. DO NOT keep your child home if they do not have a uniform.

Labels for Uniforms

Robert Halliday, one of our parents, will embroider your child’s name below “Kaikohe East School” on their school shirt or jacket for $5 (up to 10 letters). Write the name on a piece of paper, pin it on the shirt and bring the shirt to the office.
