Welcome

This week we would like to welcome the following students, and their whānau, to our school; Samual Slade, Triumph and Shelby Hori-Broomfield, Jaxon and Darcy Hughes and Calaya and Te Ataahua Rakete-Henry.

Bus Bay

All whānau are reminded that the bus bay must be kept clear at ALL times from 2.45pm until 3.45pm please. Do not use this as a stop or pick up place for children.

Kokohuia Marae Stay

Monday 12th March

For the classes who are staying overnight they will be going to dinner from 5.30-7pm at The Copthorne Ōmāpere so if whānau are visiting please try to come after dinner if you would like too. Children will be asked to dress formally for their dinner at The Copthorne – boys a shirt and pants, girls a dress or skirt and top with flat shoes as they will be walking to the dinner. In addition to dinner Rooms 15, 16 and Tūmanako (17) will be travelling by boat and going to the sand dunes.


Buses for all trips will leave the school daily at 9.15am, and all trip costs will be covered by the school.

School Finishing Early

On Friday May 11th our school will be closing at 12pm to allow all staff to attend planned professional development at Northland College. All school buses will run early from 12pm on this day. We will send an additional notice home soon to ensure all whānau know this is happening.

No Normal School Lunch Orders

This year we are unable to provide school lunch orders every day. Instead, we have decided to run our own orders on a Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s will be “Sausage Sizzles” and Friday’s “Pie Day”.

Friday Fun Day – Whānau Hui Term 1

On Friday 23rd March we are having a Friday Fun Day, classes will be welcoming whānau in to see what work they have been doing, be involved in activities set up for the day, purchase some of the goodies they are selling, have a hangi for lunch ($5 or $8) and have a korero with teachers. The day will begin after morning tea at 11.30, hangi lunch will be ready around 1pm and the day will conclude at 3pm. We hope whānau come along and support our stalls and get involved in our day.

Principal’s AwardThis fortnight’s Principal’s Award goes to Aryana Hapeta for being so helpful to others in the playground, showing manaakitanga! Aryana can have a lunch shout on a Thursday or Friday this week!

Kaikohe Rugby Football Club

Swimming Caps for sale

Swimming caps are available for sale from the school office - $3.50 each.

Every Friday, the school will be selling Pies for Term One. Orders need to be made before school in the hall with Matua James. Pie $2, Juicies $1.

Sausage Sizzle Thursdays!Every Thursday the school will be selling Sausage Sizzle for Term One. Orders will be made in class and are $2 each, Juicies $1.
