Manawanui/Rangimarie to Te Hana

On Thursday 26th June, this term Manawanui and Rangimarie are planning on going on a day trip to Te Hana o te Ao Marama Maori Village and Snow Planet. We will be leaving school at 7:30am traveling by bus and returning to school by 8:30pm. To help fundraise for this we will be having a junior lunch time disco tomorrow Thursday 5th June and a senior lunchtime disco on Friday 6th June. It will cost $2 for entry into the disco and we will also have glow sticks and glow rings for sale from 50c to $2.

A separate letter for whanau is coming home today with the newsletter for children going on this trip.

Tumanako Weekly Walks

Each week Tumanako are aiming to have short walks around our community to gain ideas, resources and experiences that we can put into our learning in class. The routes will change each week. Students will bring home a reminder the day before to let you know when and where we will go. If you wish for your child to opt out please contact Whaea Stevie.

School Speeches

Our School Competition has been planned for Thursday 12th June. Each class will have one / two finalists who will say their speech in front of the school. We will do our best to notify Whanau of finalists so you can come along and support your child.

Sausage Sizzles

To assist with Sports fees this season we are having three fundraising Sausage Sizzles on Friday 6th, 13th and 20th. Sausages will be $2 each, orders taken in classrooms and delivered at 1pm.

Room 3 Opening

Due to roll growth in Room 1 it is hoped that in Term 3 we open Room 3 as a class for five year olds.

Unfortunately due to personal circumstances teacher Lydia Cooper is unable to start with us but we are pleased that Margaret Cassidy will be the teacher in Room 3 possibly starting before the end of the term.

This will mean that some newly enrolled 5 year olds from Room 1 will be moving into Room 3. Whanau of these children will be contacted by Miss Snow or Mrs Croucher.

It is important that we know if you have a child in your Whanau who is turning 5 this year and will be attending our school or if you have any Whanau possibly moving to our school this year.

Please contact us or come and see us if you do.

Bring the child’s birth certificate or passport and their plunket book or their before school check information if you can.

We can still enrol your child without this information but do need it at some stage soon after they start school.

DISCO

There will be a disco tomorrow in the school hall for Juniors. $2 per person and highlighter gear from 50 cents to $2. The Senior Disco will be on Friday in the hall.

No kai for lunch?

A reminder to all Whanau that we have lots of food at school for your child/children if you are short of kai for breakfast or lunch.

Please do not keep your child at home if there is no kai, send them to school and we will make sure they get some yummy food. We have weetbix, milk, bread, jam, nut bars, fruit and lots of other tasty morsels for them to munch on.

Room 5 and 6 Trip

Room 5 & 6 went to visit the Honey Farm and Parrot Place last Wednesday. Lucas pictured here really enjoyed having this bird on his shoulder.

'I was at the Bee Farm. Room 5 and 6 went on a trip.

It was fun on the trip because the bees were showing us where the food is.

We had some fruit. It was funny.

I was a little bit scared in the dark.

We said 'Lights off". It turns off!

The lady showed us how to make some candles with wick and the paper is special. Because the paper is kind of sticky when you twist it.
