Welcome

A very special welcome to our following new tamariki and their whānau: Eli Hetherington, C.J Wharerau, Yahkyra and Yahrntaey Veevers, Hurricane and Detroit Taikapurua-Harding, Hone Haimona and Natasha Tui.

Bus Children

In order to be sure our bus children are kept cool and safe for the rest of Term 1 all bus children will meet in Room 5 (Manawanui) every day after school until their bus arrives.

Bus teachers will supervise and ensure children are on their correct bus each afternoon.

Water Update

Yesterday we met with John Carter, Moko Tepania and local Principals to get an update regarding our Kaikohe township water supply. A key message from this hui was the importance of everyone conserving 25% of their water use; this will go a long way to increasing our chances of getting through the current drought.

Mr Carter also informed those present that alternative supplies of water are being identified to top up reservoirs to help us manage over the coming weeks.

Hira Gage from the Ministry of Education has outlined what their support will be to ensure our primary and secondary schools can remain open in Kaikohe. Contractors will be onsite in the coming days to assess our needs and requirements.

Please play your part to conserve water on a daily basis. A flyer from FNDC will be coming home today with the newsletter , be sure to read it.

Unfortunately we have today sprung another leak that will be fixed this weekend. Because of this our water main will be turned off when no one is at school.

On Wednesday 19th February, Whaea Kaz and a group of Special Rights tamariki will be travelling down to Hikurangi School with their teacher aides to attend a Kiwichat day from 10 - 2pm. This is a great day out for learners of alternative and augmentative language.
