Welcome

A very special welcome to the following children and their whanau:  Adaya Pukeroa, Ezekiel Irimana, Walter Frisbie and Raquaan Tau-Whiu

This week we welcome Teacher Trainee Whaea Claire Edmonds to Room 4. Whaea Claire will be teaching with Miss Mason in Room 4 for another 7 weeks.

 

Farewell

At the end of this term we say thanks and farewell to Whaea Aroha who is currently teaching in Rangimarie.  Whaea Aroha is taking a break from teaching. We wish her well and thank her for the contribution she has made to Rangimarie and our school.

A relieving teacher will be employed by the beginning of next term for this class for the rest of the year.

 

Evon’s Lunch Orders

Starting next Monday you will be able to order Pizza’s at $2.50 for lunch. Reminder lunches are to be ordered in the hall with Whaea Beeby by 8.45am.

 

Room 3 NewsLast week some of the children from Room 1 transitioned into Room 3. It has only been one week and the children have been busy at work. They are enjoying their new room and are settling in well. Already we have 3 new students that have started school: Adaya Pukeroa , Tamatea and Lance Poa-Wilson. Welcome to Room 3!

 

Term 3 Clubs

Any Whanau wishing to run a club activity or help a teacher out please contact the school office. We are hoping to start clubs in the second week back after the school holidays.  So far we have teachers interested in running the following club activity on a Monday afternoon from 2.05-2.50pm

-           Jewellery Making/nail polish pamper club

-           Puppet making

-           Science experiments – one for Juniors and one for Seniors

-           Get fit

-           Cake decorating

-           Hip Hop

We would love to organise more clubs and involve lots of Whanau, please let us know if you can help or if you have another club idea for us.

 

Saturday Netball

This Saturday all teams are to meet their coaches at Lindvart Park by 8.30am please. All JMB Netball games will be over by 10.15am. 

Fees for the season are $10 per player payable at the school office. 

Teams / Coaches /Managers are as follows:

Year 1 - 3 team – Whaea Harriet

Year 3-6 team –East Eagles – Whaea Katrina and Whaea Michelle

Year 3-6 team – East Hawks – Whaea Charlotte

The last day for JMB Netball will be Saturday 5th July.

 

Rotary Speech ContestWe were very proud of our three representatives – Puawai Woodman, Kane Harris and Maya Wilcox who competed at the recent Kaikohe Rotary Speech contest.

We were very pleased that both Puawai and Kane received highly commended awards and that Kaya was placed first. Well done to them all!

 

Saturday Hockey

Many thanks to our Whanau who helped out with Hockey on Saturday. Please remember that if your child arrives at Hockey without a mouthguard they will not be permitted to play. Can Mrs Woodman’s team please be at the turf by 9.45am and Whaea Claire’s team to meet at the turf at 10.30am? 

 

Manawanui/Rangimarie to Te Hana

Tomorrow Manawanui and Rangimarie are heading to Te Hana o te Ao Marama Maori Village and Snow Planet. They will be leaving school at 7:30am traveling by bus and returning to school by 8:30pm. 

 

RDA Sausage Sizzle

Next Tuesday, 1st July, we will be selling a $4 lunch combo.  This includes a sausage sizzle, hot chips and a soft drink.  We are fundraising to support the Riding for the Disabled Association that some of our special needs students attend.

 

Mid Year Progress Report

Today all children who have been at our school for more than six weeks will be bringing home a report. If there is any information in your child’s report you wish to query please do not hesitate to come in and make a time to see your child’s teacher.

 

Fire Brigade Sports

Fire Brigade sports for all Year 4-6 children will be on next Wednesday 2nd July if fine or Thursday 3rd is postponement day, at Lindvart Park, start time 10am for all codes. Whanau welcome to come and support our teams.

 

Matariki at Kohewhata

There is a Matariki Celebration to be held at Kohewhata Marae on Saturday 28th June from 1-7pm, all welcome!
