5 year olds for Term 4 and 2019

If you have a child who is turning five either next term or in 2019 and starting school here with us we would love to know as soon as possible please. If you could let us know your child’s name, their date of birth and if you have time come in and complete an enrolment form with Whaea Chicky. If you have available your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record they would be helpful too. Call the office if you have any questions.

Classes for 2019

Staff are over the next few weeks starting to organise all children into classrooms for 2019. If you have a preference of the class you would like your child to be in next year if we can accommodate that, we will try. Any queries please feel free to contact or come and see Whaea Chicky.

School Lunches

A reminder that we now only offer school lunches on a Thursday and a Friday. On both days this term Pies - $2 each or Juicies/Moosies - $1 each are available for sale. Orders are taken in the school office and orders delivered to classes by 1pm on these two days.

T Ball and Touch starting soon

Year 4-6 TBall will be starting on Wednesday 24th October, 4pm at Lindvart Park. We are looking for parent volunteers to help take a team, if you are interested please let Whaea Lydia know. A letter will be sent out with more details for those selected players by Friday.

Touch will also be starting this term, we are just waiting on more details from the organisers, and Whaea Lydia will let you know. Again, we will be looking for parent help to run these teams. Keep an eye out for more info!

New School Sign

We are currently planning to have made a new school sign for the front of our school. We have consulted a number of local elders who have all said that if the sign is a bilingual sign, then these are the best options for the school name;

Kaikohe East School

Kaikohe ki te Rāwhiti

If you have any comment about the name that is to be included in the sign feel free to contact Whaea Chicky to discuss.

CondolencesOur sincere condolences to the Woodman/Pene and Kareko Whānau who sadly lost special Nana’s during the school holidays.

SwimmingThis term we are planning on starting swimming on Monday 5th November. On Monday 22nd November we have special Swimsafe lessons happening for all classes at the school pool. Children will need named togs and towel in a bag for their class swimming days. The swimming timetable is currently being updated and will be shared soon

Here are some photos taken from the “Share the Road” programme that all classes participated in during the last week of term.
