Matariki Celebrations

Ahuaiti

I am lonely.

It is quiet.

I let Uenuku’s hand slip from my hand to his father’s hand.

I am happy for him but I am sad that he left.

I can feel anger in my soul but can’t let it out.

A tear is crawling down my face.

Poem written by Te Marama, Room 14
