Holidays

The school holidays commence on Friday 25th September and Term 4 begins on Monday 12th October.

Te Ohonga

This Facebook Live Event is on Thursday September 24. This event will be happening in place of the Kaikohe Cultural Festival. Our school will be having some of our senior students performing in this event. If you do not want your child to be a part of this performance please let us know and we will make sure they are not in the live feed on the day. Search on facebook and “like” Te Ohonga o Ngāpuhi. You will see updates on this page about what the kaupapa is all about and what time each school is live.  Here is the flyer including times and what schools are going live.

Since Covid our overall attendance at school has decreased considerably.  It is important that whānau contact us about the reason their children are not as school as we are required to record reasons for any absence.  Please be sure to let us know so that we can share this information with other agencies such as Truancy who may become involved.

COVID – 19 Level 2 remains

Yesterday the Prime Minister announced a continuation of current alert levels until next Monday. 

A reminder - 10 things you need to know about Alert Level 2

1. Schools are open to everyone, and all children must attend.

2. Learning will be onsite with distance learning offered in some circumstances.

3. Schools are not classified as gatherings and a range of events and activities can go ahead.

4. Schools will close for cleaning and contact tracing if there is a confirmed case who was infectious when at school.

5. Face coverings are not required at school or on any school transport.

6. Sick people must stay at home.

7. You must have a contact tracing system in place.

8. Fundamental public health measures continue to apply at every alert level:

Physical distancing (not touching and not breathing on each other at Alert Level 2)

Hand hygiene

Cough and sneeze etiquette

Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces.

9. Think and plan carefully before you go ahead with any activity that brings a large number of students together and/or spectators are involved.

Transition to Kaikohe Intermediate School

Due to us being in Covid Level 2 there will be no actual transition however Whaea Freda is coming to visit us here next week at our school.  She and a few Year 7/8 ākonga will be doing a short presentation to the Year 6's on the Friday 18th September.

Hockey

There was a lot of excitement from the crowd as both our Kiwi sticks development team and the Kiwi sticks team drew both their games on Saturday enjoyed by all our whānau and supporters.

Reminder, Photolife will be at our school on Tuesday 22nd September, please return the envelope and enclose the correct amount of money for your order.  If you require another form or you want a family photo special envelope, come and get one from the school office.

Shared Lunches

Sports teams - basketball, hockey and netball will have a shared lunch next Thursday 24th September 1.00pm. We would like to invite all our coaches and managers to join us.

Rangimārie, Rooms 15 and 16 will have a shared lunch next Wednesday 23rd September 2020 to celebrate all our successes and the end of term 3 2020.
