Welcome

A special welcome back to Covenant and Ripeka Joyce.


OnesightIf your child brought home a note last term to say that they would be receiving free prescription glasses OR vouchers, the glasses and vouchers have arrived. Parents/caregivers should call at the school office to collect the glasses or vouchers. Call Don at the school office (094011532) if you have any enquiries about this.


Uniforms

Size 6 (the smallest size) and Size 8 Polo Shirts along with all the larger sizes are now available at the school for $35 each. We also have the school hoodies for $30.


Kutus

If your child needs kutu solution or a comb please call in at the school office. Solution will not be sent home with children.

Kaikohe Intermediate’s New ClassroomsYesterday a group of seniors went to the opening of the modernized classrooms at Kaikohe Intermediate. It was an awesome morning. The new spaces look great and the hangi lunch was delicious! Thank you to Whaea Freda for hosting us!


Kaikohe Intermediate School 2018

Year 6 students are bringing home a Kaikohe Intermediate School Enrolment Pack today. If the form is completed and returned to the intermediate school (or completed online) by 24 November you will go into the draw to win a $100 gift card from the Warehouse or Countdown.


Senior Syndicate Trip

All senior classes will be going to Kawakawa in the week beginning 13 November. We may be going on the train, swimming at the pool and having lunch at the park. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are able to help.


Kaikohekohe Games

On Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 November Room 15 will be involved in the Kaikohekohe Games being held atLindvart Park. Children will walk over to the park on both days at about 9am and return to school by 2.30pm. Children must bring their lunch, water and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Bay of Islands Show

This year the 175th Bay of Islands Show (Waimate North) is being held on Saturday 11 November. Lots of classes will be busy over the next few weeks preparing items to be included in the traditional sections such as Art and Craft, baking, flowers etc


SwimmingThe school swimming pool is opening tomorrow Thursday 2 November. Children who are swimming must have suitable swimming gear, no hanging cotton off gear, a towel per swimmer and a bag to keep their gear in.

Swimming times are as follows:

9.15-11am - Senior classes - Rooms 14,15,16,17

11.30-1pm - Middle classes - Rooms 4,5,6,9

2-3pm - Junior classes - Rooms 1,2,3,7,8,10

Whanau are asked to please check that school polos and clothing is labelled clearly and reminded that children who have sores or kutus will not be allowed to swim.

Mana Potential Group

The 2017 Mana Potential group is visiting Waitangi today Wednesday 1 November. We are visiting the treaty grounds and spending some time down in the bay collecting pipi.


Middle Syndicate Trip

Rooms 4, 5, 6 and Rangimarie visited the Pioneer Village yesterday. A special thanks to the volunteers at the village for supporting our visit. Our trip up the maunga at Te Ahuahu has been postponed until Tuesday 14 November. We will travel by bus leaving school at 9:00 and return in time for our morning break.
