Matters arising
It was noted in discussion that the impression is that only one person was surveyed. The responses were the results of agreed responses from a meeting of Board members and Don.
Special Topics
2014 Budget
RESOLVED Chicky / Shenelle
That the Board approves the 2014 budget with a budgeted deficit for the year of $60,011, in the context of a budgeted surplus of $313,086 at the end of 2013.
Leave Without Pay Policy
Noted in Discussion
The board discussed the costs involved in employing a reliever when a staff member takes leave without pay. The cost to the school is $140 a day plus travel.
Therefore It is the intention of the Board to discuss the following motion at the next board meeting.
That all leave without pay is at the discretion of the Board and will only be approved in exceptional circumstances. Examples of circumstances that might be approved are:
Weddings of immediate family members
Graduations of the staff member or immediate family member
Staff opinion about this proposed motion will be considered and any contributions should be e-mailed to the board chair. chair@kaikeast.school.nz
