Welcome

This week we welcome to our school new tamariki: Jorja and Teale Wharerau Hague-Smith and Haka Stevens.

Dictionaries to Year 4 from RotaryAt our School Assembly on Friday 5th July we are expecting visitors from the Kaikohe and Milford Rotary who are once again very kindly donating dictionaries to all our Year 4 children.

Kids Can Dress Up Day

On Friday 9th August we are planning a Dress up day to raise funds for Kids Can.  Kids Can have helped us so very much with food, jackets/coats, nit oil and combs etc. On this day we are asking for all children to come in “dress up” clothes and buy a $2 sausage sizzle. All funds raised will go to Kids Can.

Mid Year Reports

All children who have been at school for at least 6 weeks will be bringing home a mid year report indicating where they are placed in terms of the National Standards in Writing, Reading and Math. If any Whanau have any queries re this mid year report please feel free to make a time to come and see the appropriate teacher/s. All going well these reports will be sent home on Wednesday 26th June in envelopes.

 

Waitangi Trip

Room 12 and Room 1 are going to Waitangi next Monday, 24th June.  Rooms 5 and 6 will be going next Wednesday, 26th June.  Parent helpers please contact either Mrs Jarvis or Mrs Shields.  They are taking advantage of the free tour and show being offered to NZ Citizens for the month of June.

Year 5/6 FundraisingYear 5 Children from Room 14 will be conducting a HAMPER RAFFLE. Donations to the hamper can be sent to Room 14 this week. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes

We have 100 $2 tickets for sale, please bring your money in to school and collect a ticket. Don't miss out!  This fundraiser is for the Year 5 & 6 Urban Camp.  Drawn at School Assembly on Friday 28th June, provided most tickets have been sold.

 

Term 3 Clubs

For Term 3 staff are considering running a clubs programme which all children opt into. If there are any Whanau members who are able and willing to help with a club or run a club probably for one afternoon a week please let us know. Club ideas could be: Kapahaka, knitting, carving, drawing, mosaics etc.

 

Year 5/6 Urban Camp News       

For our trip to Auckland we will depart from school at 6am on Tuesday 2nd July and return by 6pm on Thursday 4th of July. Please can you make arrangements so that this can happen smoothly. Permission slips need to be back by this Friday

 

JMB Netball 

All teams need to be at Lindvart Park by 8.30am to meet their coaches. Thank you, to whanau who have turned up Saturday mornings to help us out especially Michelle Tito-Brown, Alicia Tomuri and Shenelle Cassidy.

Te Kohanga Reo o Kaikohe DiscoThis Friday, 21st June, at 5:30pm Te Kohanga Reo o Kaikohe is having a disco at the Kaikohe Memorial Hall for 0-10 year olds.  It will cost $2 on entry and they will be selling glow sticks, kai and raffles.
