School Photos

PhotoLife will be here to take class and individual photos on Thursday 28 September. Envelopes must be returned to the school by Wednesday 27 September. If your child did not receive an envelope contact the school office. Envelopes for sibling photos are also available from the school office. If you have any questions about school photos call PhotoLife on 0-800-501040.

Please ensure your child/children are in school uniform on photo day! Polo shirt, black bottoms (pants/shorts/skirt/tights) and the school jacket or hoodie if they have one.  If your child doesn’t yet have a school polo shirt please wear black bottoms as we will provide them with a polo shirt for the photo.

Election 2017

Election Day is this Saturday 23 September. There is a polling booth at the Kaikohe East School Hall. The polling booth is open from 9:00am to 7:00pm. You must be enrolled to vote on Saturday. If you are not enrolled (or not sure) you can still enrol and vote at the Hammer Hardware Building, 81 Broadway 9:30am-4:00pm on Thursday and Friday.OneSight

Whanau of a few children who were tested last week require a visit to an Optometrist.  The whanau of these children will be contacted to collect vouchers that will pay for this visit hopefully next week.

Room 5 Omanaia Visit

Room 5 will be travelling to Omanaia School on Wednesday 27 September to return the visit that some children from Omanaia school made to their class last year. This visit is part of their hauora focus around making and maintaining friendships and exploring the differences between small and large schools. The bus will leave as close to 9 o’clock as possible and will return in time for the end of the school day.

Cultural Festival

We are excited to once again be a part of this year’s Kaikohe Schools’ Cultural Festival which will be held at the Kaikohe Memorial Hall at 10:00am on Thursday 21 September. Entry by koha. The programme is as follows:

2017 Bay Marlins Tball/Slow Pitch

Competition will start the first Wednesday after the School Holidays. Further info for this will be sent out real soon so please watch this space. Please let the office know if you can coach a team.

On Monday 25 September Del Rameka will be at Kaikohe East School to run a coaching session for the school teams.


Room 3

On Thursday, Matua Hoani came to Room 3 and he showed us his vest and his other vest.

After that, Matua Hoani said to us, “Do you want to come and see my Police car?” We hopped in line then we walked quietly outside.  

Then Matua Hoani reversed the Police car and we all waited until he stopped. We all hopped and in I hopped on Corrin.

On Thursday, Matua Hoani came to our class. He showed us pictures of a German Shepherd. They can smell the scent of a person. Then he showed us his Police car. We hopped in it. Lewis and Hone played with the buttons and the siren went off. By Elijah

The Okaihau Kaikohe Traverse is a Kaikohe Rotary fun event on the Rail Trail on Sunday 1 October. Walk or run 9km, 14km or 21km. Free buses from Kaikohe to the start.
