Term 2 New Timetable

A reminder that in Term 2 we will be trialling this new timetable:

Junior classes particularly would have two small fruit/snack breaks during the Literacy Numeracy blocks. We welcome any feedback Whanau may have regarding the trial.

 

Iceblocks for SaleIceblocks will be sold every Thursday and Friday from tomorrow onwards outside the school office, 50cents each.

 

Kaikohe Literacy Day

The Kaikohe Rotary Literacy Day is 10:00am to 12:00pm on this Saturday 5 April at Northland College.

Fun literacy activities for all the family, with 1,000 children’s books to give away. All welcome!

 

Stationery Reminder

Children who did not manage 100% attendance for the start of their year will have brought home by now an invoice for their stationery ($15 per child) payable at the school office.

 

Kaikohe Intermediate Gala

Kaikohe Intermediate School will be holding a twilight Gala Day on Wednesday 16th April from 4.30pm to 7pm.

All welcome to come along and support our local school!

 

Zero Waste

In term 2 Sue Woods from the Zero Waste programme will be visiting classes in the first week to raise awareness of issues faced around waste management and making changes to daily practices. This will involve looking at lunchboxes and ways to reduce packaging.

 

Rippa Rugby

Next Monday two teams comprising years 3&4 and 5&6 will represent our school at a tournament being held at Lindvart Park. The tournament is being sponsored by the Northland Rugby union.

 

Whanau Rugby League DiscoThis Friday, 4th April 2014, there will be a disco held at the Memorial Hall from 5.30pm – 7.30pm for Years 1 to 6 and then from 7.30pm to 10pm for Years 7 to 13. Gold coin entry!

 

Netball coaching Workshop

Bay of Islands Netball is pleased to inform you that Robin Manihera from Netball NZ will be delivering two coaching workshops and would like to invite any interested to register their intention to attend.

7th April 2014, Lindvart Park, with Robin Manihera, $5 per person per session (to cover cost of providing resources)

Dance Workshop

Alannah Curtis is currently helping Chikhayla Fundraise by organizing workshops at local schools. And will be organizing a public workshop for Saturday 12th April, this is a huge opportunity for the community to learn from the very best and to meet and greet Chikhayla and Seta from Royal Family. Workshop will be 11.00am-12.00 Chikhayla (Royal Family) 12.00-1.00pm Seta (Royal Family) 1.30pm-2.30pm Alannah Curtis (DDF Dance Studioz) 2.45pm Performance and meet and greet. $10 per lesson or

$25 for the full day.

Spectators $5 per class.
