Welcome

This week we would like to welcome the following children their whanau to our school: Hone Smith, Manawairua Nicol-Pukeroa, Waimirirangi Kowhai Ngawhika, Alec Johnson, Dennis Perry, Jaron Kaiwai, Creedence Stevens, Hurricane Matarima-Taikapurua Harding, Lincoln Tau-Roberts, Lennox Marsh-Clay, Amaia Stillwell-Ngaropo and Zion Rameka-Rakete.

School Holidays Projects

During the school holidays Matua JT replaced the roof over the hangi pit and installed 3 new rubbish bins.  We also received confirmation that the upgrade on Rooms 3 and 4 will go ahead in the Christmas holiday break.

Whanau Hui/Survey Winners!

Last term during Whanau Hui we also sent home Whanau Hui Survey’s, survey’s that were returned were all put into the draw to win a yummy school lunch shout!

Our lucky winners were: Toa, Haki and Arihia.

Whanau Hui attendees also went into the draw to win a school polo shirt, congratulations also to Phoenix Bright who won themselves a snazzy new polo!

CondolencesSadly last week Whaea Libby Harris who was a reliever at our school some time ago passed away. Our sincere condolences to her whanau at this sad time.

From the School Council

At our meeting last term the school councillors looked at providing a cheaper jacket option following responses from Whanau.  They looked at many options, we washed and dried samples and have decided to go with what we think is the best option.  

Kaikohe East School Board of Trustees

Hockey

Our school Hockey returns this weekend!! All students will need to meet Whaea Claire at Lindvart Park pavilion by 11.15am to get ready for your game on Field 2 at 12pm!  Good luck

Alb’s Kai Cart Menu

Here is Term 3’s lunch menu;

Moosie/Juicie $1

Toastie $2

(cheese, baked beans, spaghetti)

Ice-cream Sundae $2

Hotdog $2

Orders are taken in the hall by Matua James from 8.30am, if Matua Alb is away at any time the lunch menu will be $2 Pies, $1 moosie or $1 juicie.

SWIS – Whaea Lucy

A reminder that every Wednesday and Thursday we have our School Social Worker here at our school.  Whaea Lucy is available to talk with tamariki and or their whanau who may need support.

Matariki Celebration Term Two!

Here are a few snap shots of all the fun things we got up to during our Matariki Celebrations at the end of last term.

These hoodies will be available soon. They are $30 each and will come in a variety of sizes.  The manufacturers have said that they do not recommend them being dried in a dryer.Te Arahura – Community of Learning

(COL – Kahui Ako)

Whaea Chicky and the three Across School Teachers will be completing visits to all the schools within our Kahui ako this week.  Next month we will be visiting two Kahui Ako in Auckland to gain some further insight into how other Kahui Ako are working on achieving their challenges.
