Waitangi Day

A reminder this Friday is Waitangi Day therefore the school is closed!

 

Uniforms

School Polo shirts are $35 and you will receive a free pair of black pants while stocks last.

We also have the polar fleece jackets.  These are priced according to sizes therefore from a size 6 – 14 will be $55 each any size bigger will cost $65 each.

Unfortunately at the moment we have no more polo shirts for sale but when they arrive we will let Whanau know. For now any children with no uniform please feel free to wear your usual clothes.

 

Named uniforms

We have purchased some Laundry Markers to write your child’s name on newly purchased polo shirts or on polo shirts that are not named yet.

 

2015 Term Dates

Term 1 begins 2nd February and ends 2nd April.

Term 2 begins 20th April and ends 3rd July.

Term 3 begins 20th July and ends 25th September.

Term 4 begins 12th October and ends 15th December.

 

Class letters

Teachers have been busy finalising letters that will come home today. Letters should introduce teachers and support staff who work in your child’s class and also give you some insight into the Term 1 class programme. If you have any queries do not hesitate to come and see or contact your child’s teacher.

 

Swimming Pool

All going well the pool should be operational on tomorrow. If it isn’t we will organise a slippery slide for all classes. Children must bring a change of clothes and towel to go on the slippery slide.

 

Learn to Swim

Registration Days for Learn to Swim are Wednesday 4th February, Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th of February at the Northland College pool from 4-5pm

All welcome. Bring togs and towel. Once lessons begin some classes will take place at our school pool.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is in the hall every morning from 8.15 - 8.40am.  On a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Whaea Beeby will be preparing breakfast, a Wednesday Mr Shaw and on a Friday any Whanau or staff volunteers please come and help with Breakfast however your awhi will be greatly appreciated on any day. Please just come in when you can or see the office to express your interest. Cooked breakfasts of scrambled eggs and baked beans on toast will be Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

School Information Leaflet

Every family should receive with this newsletter a leaflet with all our school information in it.  Please take the time to read the leaflet and let us know if you need any clarification.

 

Whanau Hui

We have planned our first Whanau Hui for 17th March, the school will be closing at 1pm with the first interview/hui time at 1.1opm through until the last available time 5.50pm. This is a good opportunity for Whanau to come in and meet their child’s teacher and talk about the term ahead, progress to date and for Whanau to see the work completed so far. More details later.

 

Dental Clinic

The clinic is open.   Contact them on 4011534 should you need to.

 

ERO Visit

We are expecting a visit from the Education Review Office on Monday 9th March until about Wednesday 11th March. They will arrive at approximately 11.30am on the Monday, will take time while they are here to review how we are progressing as a school by talking to our BOT, Whanau, children, visiting classrooms, looking at student achievement data and taking a close look around. If you are able and wish to come along and talk with the two ERO people about our kura please feel free to come during this time.

 

Oven for Sale

The school has a free standing oven for sale in great condition, $300 ono.  Please contact the office if interested.
