Welcome

This week we welcome the following new students and their whānau: Jimmy Phillips and Amethyst Woods-Morunga.

Passion Project Presentations

Thank you to everyone who came and bought our baking. We had a huge response and all our groups made a profit. Thank you to the Whānau who came to watch our presentations as well.

Fairies in the OfficeToday Phoebe Kopa from Room 2 made some fairy doors and a fairy path in Whaea Chicky’s office during Junior Discovery time. Phoebe told me the fairies were good and they will make my office a nicer place!

Junior Syndicate Matariki

The Junior Syndicate would like to thank the whānau who came along last Friday to celebrate Matariki with the Junior Syndicate classes.

Fire Brigade Sports 2016

Many thanks to the whānau who came along to support our teams at last week’s Fire Brigade Sports day.

Netball

This Saturday is the last day of the season for our Junior Netball teams. A reminder all players please be at the courts by 8am, games start at 8.30am. If the weather is unsuitable we will post a notice on our school Facebook page or feel free to text Whaea Chicky on 0508 Kaikohe after 7.30am

Many thanks to the coaches and whānau who have supported our teams this season!

Hockey

There will be no Hockey this weekend. Games will start again after the holidays.

Mid-Year Reports  Mid-Year Reports will come home today, Wednesday 6th July. If your child has been at school for less than 6 weeks they will not receive a report, however, you can make a time with their teacher if you wish to discuss anything.

Please come and see us if there are any concerns about your child’s report or if you would like any further explanations.

Also while we try very hard to ensure reports are error free sometimes we can miss things. Do not hesitate to come and show us any errors so we can alter them and give you an error free report.

Please note of your child’s attendance on their report. If your child’s attendance says unsatisfactory it means that they have attended school less than 80% of the school year. While we understand that sometimes the absences are explained it is still important for whanau to know how much time children are away from school.

Attendance of your child

If whānau wish to check on your child’s attendance at any time please come and see your child’s teacher. They can print a graph and other information to show individual attendance for Term 1 or 2.

Room 1 Attendance

The whānau of Room 1 are urged to please try to get their child/children to school more often. Whaea Angela has only had 11 days this year that every child has been present.
