Welcome to Term Two

This week we would like to welcome the following students to our school: Jazzmin Dillon, Jasmine Dridan, Isaiah Stillwell, D’Jahn and Yvette Wilson, Kymani Wharerau, Jahkani Hamilton Kaylene Yukich Warren and Shadae Kingi.

Welcome to teacher, Miss Natalie Snow who is team teaching in Rooms 1 and 2 with Mrs Croucher until the end of the year. A special welcome also to Year 1 Awanuiarangi Teacher Trainees: Mrs Karen Timperley who is in Room 1 and 2, Miss Leitisha Petera who in is Tumanako and Miss Grace Kapa who is in Room 14.

 

JMB Netball    JMB Netball commences this Saturday 11th May at Lindvart Park. All games will start promptly at 9am and will be finished at about 9.50am. All players need to be at Lindvart Park to meet Mrs Stillwell by 8.30am.  Letters regarding the season were given to interested players yesterday.  Copies are available at the school office. As we have done in the past, the school will pay fees for any child who returns their signed permission slip. We are also very interested in hearing from any Whanau members who can assist with teams on a Saturday please. Ring the school if you can help with coaching/managing or come and see either Whaea Chicky or Mrs Stillwell.

 

HockeySaturday hockey starts next Saturday, 18th May, 8:30am at the Lindvart Park turf.  We will be having a hockey rally at school tomorrow lunch time, weather permitting.  If your child is interested please remind them to attend.  All interested children will bring home a permission slip with next week’s newsletter.

 

School Uniform choice

A final decision has been made re our school uniform and will be announced soon, once we have confirmed pricing and ordering conditions from the supplier. Many thanks for your opinions and votes.

 

Bus Bay Parking

Whanau are reminded to not park or pick up children from the bus bay please.

 

School Trustee Elections

The School Trustee Elections are being held this year, and we need you to get involved.

By now you should have received, by post, School Trustee Election nomination forms.  Nominations are due on the 16th May 2013 at 12pm.  If you have not yet received your nomination form please see Kohi at the school office, she will have one for you.

Furniture for Sale

We still have furniture for sale desk and chair sets $5 each as well as large table with 6 chairs $60 each.

 

Hospice Shop Volunteers

Rugby LeagueJunior Rugby League starts this Sunday, 12th May, 9am at Lindvart Park.  They will have the following grades: 7yrs, 9yrs and 11yrs.  Everyone is welcome!

 

Zumba Classes

Zumba classes every Thursday 6pm – 7pm, starting tomorrow, 9th May here in our school hall. $5 per person or $50 per club.

 

BOI Gym ClubStarting Tuesday 3.30pm – 4.30pm for 2-7 year olds

Thursdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm for 8-12+ year olds at Kaikohe Intermediate School hall. Cost $40 per term. Contact Karla Tawhai on 09 4011706 or just turn up.

 

Turf Installation

Our turf surface has been completed and is great. No wheels are permitted on the turf whatsoever, this includes wheelie shoes, car/bike wheels.

 

Kohewhata Hauora Day

Kohewhata Hauora Day Wednesday 22nd May 2013 at the Kohewhata Marae, Mangakahia Road Kaikohe at 9am, with a powhiri at 9am and activities from 10:15am onwards.

 

DDF Dance Studios

Term 2 Dance Classes have started.  8 week workshop.  Kaikohe classes are at 86 Te Pua Road, Kaikohe.  Please contact Alannah Curtis on 09 4010495.
