School GalaThe School Gala will be held on Saturday the 22nd March starting at 10am.

At this stage we require helpers for various stalls and hangi preparation.  If you are available to help in any way please either fill in the attached list and return it to us or come in and see Kohi in the school office or by phone on 4011532.

Start sending to school any non-perishable items suitable for a class grocery hamper, clean items of clothing, bric a brac for the white elephant, clean newspaper and bags for hangi. A couple of days before the Gala your child will also be bringing home a cake box which will need to be returned on the morning of the Gala with some tasty baking in it.

Kutus/Head Lice

At the moment we have quite a problem with a few children who have kutus.  Whanau are reminded that if you need lotion to help get rid of kutus to call into the school office and collect some free! For those Whanau who we think may need support with this may be contacted by our school public health nurse, Whaea Lorreen.

Whanau hui/Sausage Sizzle 25th February

This is a time when Whanau can come along, have a kai, meet the teacher/s of their child/children, ask any questions and hear about what is happening in your child/children’s classroom/s for the term.

We will have two sessions to try to accommodate all Whanau. The first session will start at 3pm with Sausage Sizzle and then Whanau may go to the class/es of their children to talk with and to the teacher/s. Then at 5pm the second session will start for the next group of Whanau. There will be a Sausage Sizzle at 5pm followed by classroom time with teachers from, 5.30-6.30pm.

Everyone is welcome, choose which session time suits you and come along.

You will receive a ticket for attending from your child’s teacher that puts you in the draw for a prize.

New School Lunch List

Please see attached, our new lunch order schedule starting next week, Monday 24th February 2014.

Year 5-8 Ki-o-rahi Tournament

There will be a Ki-o-rahi event held on the 7th March 2014 at Lindvart Park from 10am to 2pm.  We will be taking 2 teams to participate in this fun event. If your child comes home with a permission slip please get it back to their teacher as soon as possible. Whanau are very welcome to come and support.

School start and finish times

A reminder to whanau that school starts at 8.50am and it is important that your child/children are at school at this time.

Similarly school ends at 3pm and it is also improtant that your child remains at school until this time. A few whanau regularly collect their child/children before 3pm and the children miss out on important things as they do when they are late.
