Whānau Survey 2018

Next week online we will be sharing a Survey to get some idea from whānau about how we are doing as a school, what ideas whānau have about their child’s learning, the way we report about your child’s learning and other questions that will help us get better at our jobs and make our school an even better place for your child/children.

Pākanae Marae Stay

A big thank you to the whānau who have supported our classes at the marae this week. Sadly there was a tangi at Kokohuia on Tuesday but we were lucky enough to be able to go to Pākanae instead. The marae phone number is 09 4058357.

Here are the classes yet to go to the Marae.

Wednesday 14th March

Rooms 7 and 8 staying overnight

Room 3 - day trip only

Thursday 15th March

Rooms 15 and 16 staying overnight

For the classes who are staying overnight they will be going to dinner from 5.30-7pm at The Copthorne Ōmāpere so if whānau are visiting please try to come after dinner if you would like to. Children will be asked to dress formally for their dinner at The Copthorne – boys a shirt and pants, girls a dress or skirt and top with flat shoes as they will be busing to the dinner.

Buses for all trips will leave the school daily at 9.15am, and all trip costs will be covered by the school.

Unfortunately Room 1 and 2 missed their Marae stay because of the weather. Whaea Tina and Whaea Becs will be looking at another opportunity for their classes.

Bus Bay

All whānau are reminded that the bus bay must be kept clear at ALL times from 2.45pm until 3.45pm please. Do not use this as a stop or pick up place for children.

Friday Fun Day – Whānau Hui Term 1

On Friday 23rd March we are having a Friday Fun Day, classes will be welcoming whānau in to see what work they have been doing, be involved in activities set up for the day, purchase some of the goodies they are selling, have a hāngi for lunch ($5 or $8) and have a korero with teachers. The day will begin after morning tea at 11.30, hāngi lunch will be ready around 1pm and the day will conclude at 3pm. Hāngi are available to purchase as of today from the school office.

We are looking for Hāngi wood and any spare newspaper, please contact the school office if you are able to help with these.

We hope whānau come along and support our stalls and get involved in our day.

School Finishing Early

On Friday May 11th our school will be closing at 12pm to allow all staff to attend planned professional development at Northland College. All school buses will run early from 12pm on this day. Alternatively let your teacher know now what will happen to your child/children on this day and give them your best contact phone number for the day.
