Room 5 – Junior Bilingual
We still have a few spaces in our Junior Bilingual class for this term. If any whānau are wanting to move their child/children from mainstream and they are Year 1 or 2 please come and see Whaea Jacinda or Whaea Chicky.
Sports team support needed
If whānau wish to come and support any of our School teams, in all/any sports, by managing or coaching to give our tamariki opportunity and experience of being part of a team and having fun, please don't hesitate to come see Whaea Claire or Whaea Lydia.
Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt day, Friday 21 May 2021. Celebrate diversity, spread aroha and end bullying in Aotearoa. Wear something pink on this day, a t-shirt, ribbon or socks. Gold coin donation buys a pink cup-cake on the day.
Basketball
During Term 2, Taal Smith will be running a basketball module for U9's, U11’s and U13’s at Northland College on Monday afternoon’s from Monday 24th May, from 3.45pm to 5.30pm. We have two U11's and one U9's team. We have an U9's manager and we are looking for 2 more managers for our U11's.
Netball
It was awesome to see lots of players and their whānau turn up to our first games of netball last week. We look forward to this week’s games. Just a reminder that we need to be at Lindvart Park at 3.30pm and games will finish at approximately 4.45pm Please remind your child to wear the appropriate footwear (sneakers) and to bring a water bottle. Coaches are sent the draw each Monday. All players are to meet after school at Room 15for organisation and will then walk over to Lindvart Park together.

Giant Skateboard
On Monday, some of our classes went to Kaikohe West School to see the Giant Skateboard they had on display. This was to promote the up and coming Tokyo Olympic games in July and is being taken around the country on a nationwide tour.
HockeyIt was an awesome day of hockey on Saturday. All players enjoyed playing as well as battling the rain. It was an open day tournament, with our Kaikohe East Waiporoporo team coming first in the Kiwi sticks development grade. This week teams have one game or a BYE. Please meet your coaches half an hour before your game. The draw for Saturday 15th May 2021 as follows:

Senior classes will be visiting Ngāwhā Springs as a part of our inquiry around Taniwha.
Classes will send out permission slips with specific details soon. We are waiting for confirmation from Ngāwhā Springs.
Books in Homes - Mother’s Day Te Kawau and Winitana Te Pania with the Scholastic Caught Being a Good Mum Award for Selina Topia, who supports and encourages her family to do well.
