Newsletter 202105 - 3 March 2021

Nau mai haere mai!

Here are the names of our new tamariki – Talya Livingstone, Jaedin Kire and Rylee Paraha.

School Closed

Our Te Arahura Kāhui Ako have another planned Professional Development day on Friday 12th March. Therefore school will be closed while teachers attend this.

Covid Level 2 Guidelines

Kaikohe East School will be restricting entry to our school grounds, so, from 8.45am - 3.30pm our school gates will be locked.

Whānau and many external visitors will be restricted on entry to the school unless the matter is urgent or an emergency.

If you need to contact someone or drop anything off please contact the school office first on 09 4011532 or free phone 0508 KAIKOHE.

We hope whānau understand this necessary change as we were finding it quite difficult to manage visitors and ensure they signed in.

There will be staff at the gates at the start and end of the school day and ALL STUDENTS will be escorted to the front of the school for collection or to the hall if they are catching a bus. If you have any further queries do not hesitate to contact us.

Marae Stay - Update

Unfortunately due to Covid Level 2 our Marae overnight stays have been cancelled. We will now be attempting to take each rōpū on a day’s haerenga only, to Te Ahuahu to walk up Pukenui Maunga and then to Forest Pools.

Haerenga - Day Trips

Due to us not being able to stay at the marae we have decided to organise day trips as follows:

A huge thank you to our tamariki, staff and whānau for the amazing effort at our Whānau Sports Day last Friday. We were so proud of you all from sack races, hurdles, tug of war, to an obstacle course and three legged races. What a wonderful day. Well done to our two winning Whānau Roopu- Te Korowai o Te Aroha and Charlies Angels.
