This week say a big thank you and farewell to Whaea Gaylene Neho who has been completing a teaching practicum in Room 4 with Miss Mason.

The Festival will be at Northland College, our Te Korowai o te Aroha roopu will perform and also our Hip Hop group who has been working with Matua Te Riiwhi. Entry is by koha. A programme will be sent home the week of the Festival.

Many thanks to all the whanau who took the time to come and meet with teachers yesterday.

Principal’s Award

Congratulations to Kenneth Marupo who received the Principal’s Award last week for his awesome Cross Country race.

School Photos

Our school photos are scheduled for this Friday the 13th September by photographer Liz Davies in the school hall.  Whanau photos will be taken from 8.30am until about 9.45am. Please be sure that you and all your Whanau who will be in the photo are at the hall during this time. Class photos will start once Whanau photos are finished. Payment must be made by Friday.

Sports Assembly

A special Sports Assembly is to be held on Friday 20th September at 10.30am in the school hall. All Whanau and coaches of particularly Hockey are welcome to attend. At this assembly we will acknowledge our Cross Country and Hockey players.

BOT Dates

Board Members please note the following:

1:30pm Wednesday 18 September - Board Meeting, all welcome!

Trophy from ABC

Last Friday Whaea Chicky, Room 1 and Tumanako children visited the new ABC Daycare following an invitation from them to officially thank our school for having the centre here. At this function we were very proud to receive a specially carved trophy created for us to remember our special bond. It is yet to be decided how the trophy will be used but if any Whanau have any ideas please let us know. One suggestion has been that children who receive the Principal’s Award would be given the trophy.

Duffy Assembly

Next Wednesday at 11.30am we have a visit from ex Warriors/Kiwi League player, Gavin Hill in the school hall. Whanau are welcome to join us!

School Uniform

We have made a final decision re the school uniform shirt which is currently on display in the school office. The shirts are being made in China and supplied to us by Sportclub, Whangarei. They have agreed to price the shirts at $35 each and will continue to try to source an emerald green zip up jacket also.

For now if you would like to place an order for a shirt we will have size samples available hopefully in 3-4 weeks at the office. Payment must be made with your order, orders will be sent away once we have 50 shirts ordered. Any black bottom can be worn with the school shirt as from 2014, and a reminder that the uniform is an optional for 2014.
