This fortnight’s Principal Award goes to Christina Nieper for her caring, conscientious and helpful attitude.

Learning at Home

Here are some activities whānau might like to do at home with their 8-10 year olds.

          • Call out relatively simply addition and subtraction problems and expect your child to answer quickly eg: 4+2, 10-5 etc.
          • Record the 2x, 5x and 10x tables on some paper and give your child about 5 minutes to record the answers to these.

Year 5 & 6 Urban Camp

All year 5 & 6 students are working towards gaining 100 pasta points which will allow them to attend the Urban Camp in Auckland from the 2nd-4th July 2013.  Further information will be sent out to those tamariki involved.

Fundraising

Over the next 5 weeks we will be holding 3 fundraising events for the Urban Camp. This Friday 7th June we will be having a cake stall.

Share the Road

Last week we had two logging trucks visit our school.  I learnt the mud flaps stop the mud from flicking in the car’s windscreen.  In the front of the truck is a blind spot.  It was colossal.

The red things on the back of the truck are called bolsters.

I felt high up in the cab and it was exciting.
