Whānau Hui – Term 1

We are planning to have 3 whānau hui times this term on Tuesday 11 February at the following times:

3.15pm, 4.15pm and 5.15pm. At each hui the teacher of your child will meet you and others in their classroom to talk about class programmes, class routines etc and also give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We are hoping that these times are suitable for all and if not that the class letter that comes home today helps too. If you feel as though you need to meet your child’s teacher at another time feel free to discuss a suitable time with the teacher.

Here is a list of what we offer and prices: polo shirts with school logo $30, hoodies $30, fleece jackets $65, caps $8, bows $3.

Pedestrian Crossing on Broadway

Every morning from 8.15-8.30am and 3-3.15pm Mrs Maihi is on road duty at the pedestrian crossing closest to Paper Plus and the Doctors. Please be sure your child gets to the crossing so that they can cross during these times.

We have pies $2 and juicies $1 on Thursdays and Fridays. Orders will be taken at the school office before 8.50am and delivered to classes at 1pm.

Community Hub

We have a Community Hub available for whānau who have any particular worries about their childs learning planned for Thursday 20 February 2020 at Kaikohe Wananga o Aotearoa building from 8.30 am – 12.30pm.

More information about this next week.

Bus Bay Reminder

Whānau are reminded that stopping in the bus bay is not permitted. Bus drivers get annoyed when pulling in and cars are parked in our bus bay.

Cars should not use the bus bay at all from 8.15-9.15am and 2.30-3.30pm.

Teachers for 2020

All children will be bringing home next Wednesday their class letter that will give whānau some insight into what is happening in their child’s class this term.

This year’s Tryathlon is to be held in Waitangi on Sunday the 29th March, 2020. The fee to participate will be covered by the school but whānau must be available to transport their child and their gear to and from the event. A letter was sent home last week with any interested in participating. Any queries please come and see Whaea Lydia in Room 6 or if your child needs a letter come and collect one.

Basketball News

We are proud to have supported 3 students Wakaroa Smith, Samuel Edmonds and Vaughan Komene in their U11’s Maori Basketball Tournament held in Rotorua recently. They played 7 games, winning 4, and were placed 6th out of 12 teams in their grade. They have also been chosen for the U11’s Northland team and will be travelling to Tauranga to participate in another big Tournament Easter Weekend. Big mihi to their coach Taal Smith for your hard mahi.
