This is a report for both term 1 and 2. There was only a 0.7% difference between the two terms which is a bit of a surprise because usually the summer term has the highest attendance. There is no significant difference between the genders. It appears there is a difference between the ethnicities. We have combined all non-Maori ethnicities as numbers under 3 or 4 can allow pupils to be identified. For the same reason 3 pupils do not appear in the year and room data as there are 3 year 7 pupils and 1 year 0 pupil. Percentages by rooms vary by 14%. In the past we have seen this tie in with the age levels. Younger children tend to be absent more often than older children but this period the year levels are much more even. We will look to see if the regular non-attendees are the same as last year. It is highly likely. We have 17 pupils (5.1%) who attended 100% of the time and 66 (19%) who have attended 95% of the time. This is the “excellent” level for our reports. At the other end of the scale we have 73 children who have absences more than 20% of the time. A 20% absence rate equates to one day per week.
